  • Publication number: 20230400531
Abstract: A method for monitoring the operation of an electrical assembly having a plurality of coils disposed electrically in a parallel circuit, includes detecting, off-power, the voltage at each coil by using a tap on a winding, determining the AC component of the detected voltage for each coil, determining the mean value of the voltage at the coils, evaluating the determined AC component for each coil with respect to the determined mean voltage, while applying a weighting, and generating a signal if a weighted deviation of a value describing the AC component of a detected voltage in a coil from a value describing the mean voltage exceeds a specified limiting value. An electrical assembly and a method for operating the assembly are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220412805
Abstract: An air-core inductor with a temperature measurement system. The temperature measurement system uses a thermographic sensor, an energy harvesting device configured for obtaining electrical energy from the electromagnetic field and a transmitter configured for contactless data transmission arranged on the air-core inductor. The energy harvesting device may include a coil, a rectifier element, and a storage.

  • Publication number: 20220344094
Abstract: A compensation block for air-core inductors or transformers is formed as a sandwich structure. The sandwich structure of the compensation block includes an upper insulating material block, a lower insulating material block, and an elastomer block arranged between the upper and lower insulating material blocks. The novel compensation block allows the formation of gaps due to settlement to be reduced.

  • Patent number: 11131719
Abstract: A method monitors an electrical assembly which contains a plurality of electrical coils connected in parallel. In the method, the difference in current between the current flowing through the coils and the mean value of the currents flowing through the coils is ascertained for each of the coils connected in parallel. The differences in current are used to identify when an inter-turn short circuit occurs in one of the coils.
