  • Patent number: 9820185
Abstract: An electronic device for near field communication (NFC) includes a processor including one or more applications and a controller controlling NFC communication between a reader/writer device and the processor. The controller includes a communication unit that exchanges communication between the external reader/writer device and the processor. A parser parses communication exchanged between the reader/writer device and the processor. The parser is configured to detect a predetermined setting of a response code within an authentication response sent by the processor in response to an authentication request received from the reader/writer device, the predetermined setting indicating that an application of the processing unit is in an authenticated state.

  • Patent number: 8576053
Abstract: Near field communication (NFC) device including a processor and a front end unit (FEU) to communicate with an external reader/writer device. The FEU stores, by first memory, a first number of sets of application parameters, each set including first and second identifiers. The processor stores, by second memory, the application and a second number of the sets. The FEU receives a communication request from the external device, including a certain first identifier. The FEU checks, when the request is received, whether the certain first identifier is stored in the first memory. If yes, a response is sent to the external device, including a respective second identifier, which is in the same set of parameters as the certain first identifier. The FEU sends, each time a request is received, a response to the processor. The processor controls which sets of parameters are stored in the first memory based on the response.

  • Patent number: 7966408
Abstract: The invention generally relates to the field of markup languages used to describe adaptive mobile multimedia applications and/or presentations being inherently dependent on the dynamic mobile environment they are running in, which means that these mobile multimedia applications and/or presentations need to be adapted to the preferences of mobile users, the capabilities of their mobile computing devices, and their current situation. It allows adaptive mobile stream-based multimedia applications with real-time requirements in a typical wireless scenario (e.g. a radio link with a changing transmission quality and hand-over procedures) to adaptively and responsively react to a time-varying network topology and different radio link characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7711117
Abstract: A technique for managing the migration of mobile agents to nodes of a communication network is proposed. The trustworthiness of at least one node (102b) of the network is checked (301). In case the trustworthiness exceeds a pre-set trust threshold, a trust token for the checked node (102b) is generated (306) and the trust token is stored (303) in the network. In advance to a migration of a mobile agent (104a) to a node of the network it is verified (108, 109) if a valid trust token is existing for the corresponding node (102b). The migration of the mobile agent (104a) is restricted (107) to nodes having a valid trust token.

  • Patent number: 7305679
Abstract: A portal application implemented on a multipurpose computer provides access from a client to a multimedia service. The portal application comprises a plurality of services respectively structured according to a model-view-controller (MVC) architectural pattern and respectively comprising at least one model containing data, a controller and at least one view for the presentation of data of the model. The services are designed to communicate with each other by way of the controller. Therefore, services can be dynamically installed and removed. Due to the presence of a plurality of uses associated with a single controller, the various services are supported to produce different kinds of mark-up languages for each of a plurality of different devices.
