  • Patent number: 8677019
Abstract: A data communication method between a first communication user arranged at a motor vehicle and a second communication user arranged outside the motor vehicle is provided. The first communication user can be addressed by the second communication user by way of a network address. The network address of the first communication user is defined by an address management unit arranged outside the motor vehicle and is transmitted to the first communication user.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 12, 2008
Date of Patent: March 18, 2014
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Guenter Bruenner, Martin Baumgartner, Klaus Rebhan

  • Patent number: 6690927
Abstract: A DECT transmit-receive terminal comprises a plurality of transmit-receive antennas for communicating with a DECT base station, a device for determining the quality of a communications connection between the DECT transmit-receive terminal and the DECT base station, and a means for switching over from one transmit-receive antenna to another transmit-receive antenna, said switch-over means being connected to the determining device for switching over if the quality of the communications connection is below a predetermined threshold. An antenna diversity effect is thus realized for the DECT transmit-receive terminal by means of which the transmission quality of the communications connection is improved.

  • Publication number: 20020080854
Abstract: A base station includes a transmission/reception device for communication with a mobile unit using one hopping sequence from a set of hopping sequences with a hopping sequence being a defined temporal sequence of transmission/reception frequencies and each hopping sequence differing from the other hopping sequences in the set. The base station also includes an identification device for the identification of the hopping sequence used for communication, so that the base station is always correlated with exactly one hopping sequence. A mobile unit allocated to that base station generates the hopping sequence used by the base station itself. Therefore by modification of the physical layer, but without modification to the higher protocol layers of DECT, an adaptation of applications designed for the DECT standard to the communication technology stipulated for the ISM bands can be achieved.
