  • Publication number: 20200088077
Abstract: A silencer for an exhaust gas system of a motor vehicle has an external housing that has at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening for exhaust gas. The silencer includes a silencer chamber and a filter monolith through which exhaust gas flows, and which is circumferentially surrounded by the silencer chamber. Also disclosed is a motor vehicle with at least one silencer.

  • Patent number: 8375708
Abstract: A static mixing element, in particular for arrangement in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, has a grid-like component having a flow therethrough. The grid-like component is formed in one piece from an elongated metal strip. In the production of the static mixing element, the metal strip is bent to form the grid-like component.

  • Publication number: 20100101219
Abstract: An exhaust system, in particular for a vehicle with a diesel engine, has a first insert through which exhaust gas flows, a second insert through which exhaust gas flows and which is arranged downstream of the first insert in the flow direction, and an injection device arranged between the first and second inserts for injecting a fluid. A swirling element is provided in the flow path of the exhaust gas downstream of the first insert in the flow direction.

  • Publication number: 20070080314
Abstract: A bushing assembly for an exhaust valve includes a first bushing component formed from a first material that provides a low friction surface and a second bushing component formed from a second material that provides noise damping. The first and second bushing components are supported by a shaft that rotates an exhaust valve positioned within an exhaust component. An actuator is coupled to the shaft to pivot the exhaust valve within an exhaust component to vary exhaust flow. As the shaft rotates, the first and second bushing components cooperate to provide a good bearing surface in combination with noise dampening during valve actuation.

  • Publication number: 20060027420
Abstract: A semi-active muffler has a casing, an inlet pipe for exhaust gas, at least one outlet pipe for the exhaust gas, a valve element controlling flow of exhaust gas, a spring cooperating with the valve element and biasing the valve element into a first position. Cooling means are provided for reducing the amount of heat transferred from the exhaust gas to the spring.
