Patent number: 9837100Abstract: Techniques of conducting an online meeting involve outputting ambient sound to a participant of an online meeting. Along these lines, in an online meeting during which a participant wears headphones, the participant's computer receives microphone input that contains both speech from the participant and ambient sound that the participant may wish to hear. In response to receiving the microphone input, the participant's computer separates low-volume sounds from high-volume sounds. However, instead of suppressing this low-volume sound from the microphone input, the participant's computer renders this low-volume sound. In most cases, this low-volume sound represents ambient sound generated in the vicinity of the meeting participant. The participant's computer then mixes the low-volume sound with speech received from other conference participants to form output in such a way that the participant may distinguish this sound from the received speech.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2015Date of Patent: December 5, 2017Assignee: GetGo, Inc.Inventors: Eugen Wige, Klaus Reindl

Patent number: 9736599Abstract: A high-performance method evaluates a useful signal of an audio device, and in particular of an audio apparatus, for example for reducing interference. Accordingly, in the method at least two microphone signals are each obtained from a sound signal and a reference signal is obtained from the microphone signals, a portion of the microphone signals from a predetermined direction being blocked. The microphone signals are filtered by a filter such that an evaluation signal is obtained. To that end, a coherence value is determined from portions of the reference signal and a power density value is determined from the coherence value. The filter is parameterized on the basis of the power density value.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2015Date of Patent: August 15, 2017Assignee: Sivantos Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Walter Kellermann, Klaus Reindl, Yuanhang Zheng

Patent number: 9277333Abstract: A method operates a hearing aid system and the hearing aid system has at least two hearing aid devices, between which a signal path is provided, and with at least one signal processing unit, which is provided to process audio signals. In the method the signal processing apparatus filters first audio signals with a filter predetermined for a defined spatial direction, from which a useful signal arrives, so that second audio signals are generated, in which the components of the useful signal in the second audio signals are equalized to a greater degree than in the first audio signals. The second audio signals are then filtered with an adaptive filter, so that third audio signals are generated, in which the components of the useful signal are equalized to an even greater degree than in the second audio signals.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2014Date of Patent: March 1, 2016Assignee: Sivantos Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Marc Aubreville, Eghart Fischer, Homayoun Kamkar Parsi, Walter Kellermann, Stefan Meier, Henning Puder, Klaus Reindl

Patent number: 8909523Abstract: A method determines a bias reduced noise and interference estimation in a binaural microphone configuration with a right and a left microphone signal at a time-frame with a target speaker active. The method includes a determination of the auto power spectral density estimate of the common noise formed of noise and interference components of the right and left microphone signals and a modification of the auto power spectral density estimate of the common noise by using an estimate of the magnitude squared coherence of the noise and interference components contained in the right and left microphone signals determined at a time frame without a target speaker active. An acoustic signal processing system and a hearing aid implement the method for determining the bias reduced noise and interference estimation. The noise reduction performance of speech enhancement algorithms is improved by the invention. Further, distortions of the target speech signal and residual noise and interference components are reduced.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2011Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Siemens Medical Instruments Pte. Patent number: 4151545Abstract: A pure aluminum outer layer is provided to facilitate bonding with aluminum bonding wires having a diameter of 50 .mu.m or greater without formation of troublesome slivers upon bonding. Beneath that a copper-bearing aluminum layer with 1 to 4% copper content is provided. A third layer beneath the copper-bearing layer containing up to 1% silicon can be added below the copper-bearing layer to promote adhesion at contact window edges.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1977Date of Patent: April 24, 1979Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Dietmar Schnepf, Klaus Reindl, Heiko Gruner, Friedrich Vogel
