  • Patent number: 8534435
Abstract: An actuating device for applying actuating forces in a friction clutch device for engaging and disengaging a friction clutch assembly of the friction clutch device. The torque transmission device comprises the actuating device for transmission of torque between a drive unit and a transmission which also includes the friction clutch device. A method for installing a torque transmission device of this type. Various aspects relate to setting of a pre-load on a bearing of the actuating device, setting an over-dead-point configuration for a compensation spring associated with at least one rotary member of the actuating device, setting a rotation movement range for the rotary member and/or an axial movement range for an actuating element which can be displaced axially by rotation movement imparted to the rotary member, and producing either a normally engaged or disengaged characteristic in a normally-engaged or normally-disengaged friction clutch assembly with the compensation spring.

  • Patent number: 6997619
Abstract: A clutch-release mechanism for actuating the friction clutch of a motor vehicle, installed concentrically around a guide sleeve, includes a release bearing with an inner ring and an outer ring as well as a sliding sleeve. The inner ring is in working contact with a release spring of the friction clutch and the outer ring is in working contact with the sliding sleeve by way of a sliding surface, and the release mechanism has both a first device for compensating for a tilt of the center axis of the friction clutch with respect to the center axis of the guide sleeve and/or for a wobbling eccentricity of the release spring, and a second device for compensating for an offset between the above-mentioned center axes. The first device consists of a modified raceway for the balls, where the race has both a first race radius and a second race radius to form a surface in the form of a spherical segment, where differences between the angles of the release spring and of the release bearing are compensated.

  • Patent number: 6899016
Abstract: A master cylinder for a hydraulically actuated clutch or brake system in a motor vehicle includes a piston in a housing, the piston being axially movable in the housing by a piston rod. The piston rod has a ball-shaped head, at least certain areas of which are surrounded by first and second shell-like support elements which form a ball socket, so that the piston and the piston rod are connected to each other essentially without play, but are still free to swivel with respect to each other. The support elements are arranged at least in part inside a piston shaft sleeve, against which these elements may be supported when forces introduced via the piston rod act upon them. The first support element has a hemispherical shell to enclose half of the ball-shaped head. The other side of the ball-shaped head, except for a certain clearance required for swiveling, is surrounded by a support element with a spherical-segment-shaped ring, through the opening in which the piston rod passes.

  • Patent number: 5481145
Abstract: In order to provide a power recovery plant comprising a gas turbine with a turbine wheel and a generator with a rotor driven by the turbine wheel, in which the known bearing problems are diminished or even cease, it is suggested that the turbine and the generator be combined in a plant housing to form one unit, that the turbine wheel and the rotor form a rotor unit rotating as a whole and that the rotor unit be rotatably mounted in the plant housing by magnetic bearing units in a non-contact manner.

  • Patent number: 4616923
Abstract: The light-sensitive layer of a printing plate is charged to a given surface potential which is measured by means of a stationary or moving potential detector. The potential ratio, which changes during the exposure, is continuously compared with a given set value, and the exposure is terminated when the changing potential ratio is in agreement with the given set value. The measurement of the surface potential and of the potential ratio is carried out in a bright area of the light-sensitive layer, which area is located outside the area of the latent electrostatic image. The potential detector may be connected via a signal converter and an amplifier to a microprocessor control which actuates a shutter via a digital output. In the microprocessor, a program for controlling a corona electrode and a developing electrode is stored, which program actuates the corona control and the developing electrode control via a digital/analog output and high-voltage amplifiers.
