  • Patent number: 6892422
Abstract: A spring-loaded hinge (1) is suggested for eyeglasses with a center part and bows surrounding eyeglass lenses, with at least one spring element (41), at least one hinge element (9) having a hinge eye (11) and with a locking element (7). It is characterized in that the locking element (7) consists of elastically deformable flat material, especially of a strip of sheet metal, the locking element (7) has a locking tab (37), and the flat material has a hole (81) for holding a spring pin (15).
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6505933
Abstract: A spring hinge for eyewear with assembly locking elements that snap-in to place. The locking elements are in the form of a bent spring pin that is insertable in a compressed form and which, once inserted, expands to engage a stepped recess, locking it in place. The bent spring pin is formed from a single T-shaped blank allowing economical manufacturing and assembly, resulting in a secure, compact spring hinge.

  • Patent number: 6241354
Abstract: The invention relates to a spring hinge for spectacles, having a housing (3), a hinge part (5), which is arranged such that it can be displaced at least partially within the housing (3), a closure part (7), which is arranged in the housing (3), a spring (9), which is supported on the hinge part (5), on the one hand, and on the closure part (7), on the other hand, and having a stop device which has two stop elements. The invention is distinguished in that one stop element (33) is arranged on the hinge part (5), and the other stop element (63, 67) is arranged on the housing (3) or on the closure part (7), such that the capacity of the hinge part (5) for displacement counter to the spring force of the spring (9) is limited to a predetermined distance (w).

  • Patent number: 4969375
Abstract: The pedal binding makes it possible separably to couple a shoe to a bicycle pedal rotatable about a pedal spindle and comprises a pedal side coupling part which forms a tread area and, adapted to be fitted onto the tread area, a shoe side coupling part. The coupling parts are separably locked together via catch members disposed on mutually facing surfaces of bifurcated arms of the pedal side coupling part on the one hand and bifurcated arms of the shoe side coupling part on the other. Such a snap-action connection is simple and operationally reliable. Mutually associated pairs of sloping thrust faces on the coupling parts assist the separation of the locked joint upon relative tilting movements of the two coupling parts.
