  • Patent number: 9399474
Abstract: A method for controlling a pneumatic spring assembly of a motor vehicle includes deriving discrete condition parameters from a condition of the motor vehicle, wherein the discrete condition parameters are combined into parameter sets. Each parameter set is furthermore associated with a defined height control behavior, and wherein a height control behavior that is associated with a specific condition of the vehicle is set by activating at least one valve of the pneumatic spring assembly.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 29, 2010
Date of Patent: July 26, 2016
    Assignee: Siemens AG Oesterreich
Inventors: Gerhard Hojak, Klaus Six, Martin Teichmann
  • Patent number: 8833267
Abstract: A rail vehicle with variable axial geometry includes at least two axles, wherein a horizontal angular position of each axle with respect to the vehicle frame may be changed, and wherein the angular position of each axle is adjusted continuously during operation of the rail vehicle in such a way that a predefined lateral displacement and a predefined axial angle are achieved.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 2011
Date of Patent: September 16, 2014
    Assignee: Siemens AG Oesterreich
    Inventors: Klaus Six, Martin Teichmann
  • Patent number: 8485109
Abstract: A method for minimizing tread damage and profile wear of wheels of a railway vehicle is provided. The railway vehicle includes two sets of wheels, or a bogie of a railway vehicle with two sets of wheels, wherein setpoint values for parameters characterizing the position of a wheel relative to the track are determined based on measured values of a variable parameter relevant for the creation of tread damage and profile wear during the movement of the railway vehicle, on condition that the tread damage and profile wear on the wheels of the railway vehicle are minimized, wherein the position of one set of wheels is adjusted according to the setpoint values by means of actuation, control, or a combination of both.

Date of Patent: July 16, 2013
    Assignee: Siemens AG Österreich

  • Publication number: 20090133601
Abstract: Disclosed is a railway vehicle comprising at least one pneumatic spring for supporting a body. At least one mechanically actuated valve is disposed in at least one air supply/discharge tube of the at least one pneumatic spring in order to control air exchange of the at least one pneumatic spring. At least one switching means is provided between the at least one mechanical valve and the at least one pneumatic spring in the at least one air supply/discharge tube in order to control air exchange. Alternatively, at least one switching means is arranged between the at least one mechanical valve and at least one pressure source while at least one additional switching means is placed in a tube that connects the at least one mechanical valve to an environment in order to control air exchange.
