  • Publication number: 20110174804
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for interrupting and restoring the melt stream of iron and metal melts in melt channels, in particular tap hole channels, of blast furnaces and drainage channels of melt furnaces. The method is characterized by a transition of the melt stream in the melt channels to the solidified state through cooling so that the melt stream can be interrupted, and by a melting of the solidified melt and a restoration of the melt stream through heating, in particular for re-establishing tapping of blast furnaces.

  • Patent number: 6217135
Abstract: In the case of highly mobile vehicles overloading of the travelling pads (3) of crawler tracks frequently gives rise to incipient cracks in the base plate (14), which generally start from the bottom of the incision of the tongue. A long service life for the travelling pad (3) with base plate (14) is achieved by the base plate (14) being incision-free in the retaining region (10).

  • Patent number: 5944395
Abstract: In the case of a connector endless track with travelling pad, the invention aims to guarantee a long service life for the travelling pads (1). The load-bearing surface of the travelling pad (1) on the carriageway is reduced by the engagement of a tooth (25) of a drive ring (26) into a tube body (5) of the connector endless track. In order to provide a compensation effect here the travelling pad (1) is extended in a direction towards the opening (3) and covers at least a portion (2) of the surface region of the opening (3) for the engagement of a drive ring (26).

  • Patent number: 5749634
Abstract: In hinge tracks with rubber mountings (5) in which rubber-lined tubular steel bushes mount track pivot pins (20), the pin ends are usually provided with screwthreaded projection portions so that the steel bushes (10) are motion-free braced relative to each other and relative to the track pivot pins (20) by means of nuts. In order to improve the useful life of the rubber mounting (5) and reduce maintenance, a rubber-lined spreadable bush (10) with at least one dividing gap (11) is proposed instead of the tubular bush. The internal width (25) of the bush (10) which is pressed into position is less than the diameter (27) of the track pivot pin (20). The inserted track pivot pin (20) expands the bush (10) which is pressed into the chain link member (1). In that case the track pivot pin (20) is braced in the bush (10) and is fixed in its longitudinal direction by frictional engagement and in the peripheral direction by frictional engagement and/or positively locking engagement.

  • Patent number: 5257691
Abstract: An arrangement for transferring castable material without pipes or conduits from a feeding point to a destination, particularly in underground mining. The arrangement includes a driven centrifugal wheel with blades. The centrifugal wheel is radially open and is surrounded in the manner of a jacket by an endless housing belt which is guided on guide rollers. The portion of the centrifugal wheel which is radially open is bordered by the guide roller which causes the housing belt to contact the centrifugal wheel and by the guide roller which raises the housing belt from the centrifugal wheel. The material is radially discharged in a concentrated manner through this radially open portion. The material is supplied axially to the centrifugal wheel through a feed tube and enters through a discharge opening of the feed tube on the vertical level of the blades into the centrifugal wheel.

  • Patent number: 5193883
Abstract: Process and device for controlling longwall shearing and heading machines along a cut horizon between coal and rock. The horizon is produced by a cutting tool arrangement attached to the machine and followed by a sensor which distinguishes between coal and rock. The values measured by the sensor are converted to control impulses which guide the cutting tool in the cut horizon. Mineral samples are taken, continuously or at short distances apart, behind the cutting tool arrangement, and the sample material is analyzed in the sensor. The result of the analysis is compared with a standard value and the deviation from the theoretical value is used as the value of the control impulses.

  • Patent number: 5058963
Abstract: A belt-type Caterpillar for track-laying vehicles and snowmobiles, incorporating individual replaceable belt segments, in which each belt segment incorporates a base member consisting of rubber including tensile-loaded inserts which encompass a traction or tie anchor transversely supported within the rubber in the region of the connecting locations for the belt segments. The connecting locations which are formed as hinge members vulcanized into the belt segments include tubular sections with inserted tubes or track pins, as well as arms arranged at a lateral spacing from each other, whereby the arms retain the tie anchor which is formed as a connecting pin or bolt. The inserts consist of at least two endless fabric bands or webs arranged at a spacing adjacent each other, the arms terminating proximate a nonelastic bending region of a rubber or track dog, or transversely stiff traverse, and in which the hinge members possess laterally arranged arms.

  • Patent number: 4905777
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and a device for the production of drilling holes from an angled position with respect to the drilling axis, wherein the system has a free-moving drilling support with a drilling machine axially movable thereon. According to this process the drilling rod is provided with a flexible configuration that is diverted by passing through a bend guide affixed to a drilling support, from the rotation axis of the drilling machine to the axis of the drill hole. According to this device, the flexible drilling rod system consists of a tubular core and of wires or rods twisted around this core.

  • Patent number: 4798501
Abstract: The flexible earth anchor useful for reinforcing underground structures such as a traverse is insertable in a hole in the ground to a certain depth and is attachable with the walls of the hole at its end facing the deepest portion of the hole or along its entire length. Advantageously an adhesive means is used for the attachment. The anchor is constructed from a plurality of lamella in close contact with each other and slidable against each other. Advantageously the lamella are made from sheet metal in a continuous manufacturing process and are attached together by welding. They can be spread out at their inserted end in the hole to provide a better bond to the adhesive and held together by a ring. A sleeve can be provided at the chamber end which is attached by welding to the lamella and which can be used to rotate the earth anchor during the adhesion process.

  • Patent number: 4625815
Abstract: The invention relates to a drilling equipment whose annular bit (4) for cutting the rock located in the deepest point of the drill hole is provided with high-pressure water-jet nozzles and is connected via a flexible high-pressure hose pipe (13) with a high-pressure pump. In order to be able to drill with the aid of such a drilling equipment small-diameter drill holes of high directional stability, the invention proposes that the high-pressure hose pipe (13) be constructed to be rigid under torsion, non-rotatably connected to the annular bit (4) and the turning drive (24, 25) of the drilling machine (8) and to be journaled in a non-rotatable jacket tube (15) elastically deflectable from the extension position, said jacket tube being rigid in radial direction and guided in the area of the drill hole mouth in a deflecting device (7) and displaceable together with the high-pressure hose pipe (13) in its longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 4583792
Abstract: An arrangement forming an assembling aid on crawler chains for track-laying or crawler track vehicles, whose chain link members are equipped with rubber-cushioned coupled pins, and which are interconnected through the intermediary of clamp-like connectors slideable over the ends of the coupling pins and adapted to be fixedly anchored by means of a screw. The coupling pins which are to be interconnected in the assembled condition are provided with securing elements which engage into a slot formed in the connector. Each individual coupling pin is equipped with separate adjusting or setting elements, which protrude cog-like beyond the cross-section of the coupling pin, wherein the adjusting elements evidence a lower height or diameter relative to the width of the slot in the clamped-in condition of the connector, and wherein guide surfaces are formed on the connector for the preadjustment and final adjustment of the adjusting elements.
