  • Patent number: 5836820
Abstract: A clutch disc which serves to transmit torque between an axially movable pressure plate and a rotary counterpressure plate of a friction clutch in a motor vehicle has at least one damper including an input component having friction linings engageable by the pressure plate and the counterpressure plate when the clutch is engaged, an output component which is coaxial with and rotatable relative to the input component and can transmit torque to the input shaft of a variable-speed transmission in the vehicle, and energy storing means interposed between and opposing rotation of the input and output components relative to each other. The input and/or the output component includes at least one substantially disc-shaped torque transmitting member which is of one piece with a portion having several resilient tongues which are deformable in the direction of the common axis of the input and output components and form part of a friction generating device.

  • Patent number: 5143694
Abstract: A test strip evaluating instrument is used for testing of multiple test strips, and has a transport and positioning device which transports the test strips at right angles to their longitudinal direction from a test strip feed area along a transport path to a disposal area. At least one measuring station with an optical measuring unit is arranged on the transport path. Rails, on which the test strips slide, run along the transport path. The test strips are transported in a step-wise manner by at least two rows of cam elements following one another in the transport direction, and these two rows of cam elements move synchronously with one another in a periodically recurring movement path.

  • Patent number: 4493409
Abstract: An ignition-operated combustion power unit wherein the flywheel on the crankshaft of the power unit can transmit torque to the pressure plate of a friction clutch whose cover carries an ignition point indicator. The cover can be connected to the flywheel in a single predetermined angular position of the cover and flywheel relative to each other so that the indicator is invariably maintained in one and the same angular position with reference to the crankshaft when the cover receives torque from the flywheel.

  • Patent number: 4491211
Abstract: An assembly, such as a friction clutch, has a cup spring with a conicity which is variable when the assembly is in use. The cup spring has a ring-shaped base, tongues extending therefrom at an angle and separated from each other by slots which extend radially outwardly and terminate in hole-like cutouts, and hole-like enlargements disposed radially inwardly of the cutouts and having a width greater than the minimal slot width. Holding means extend axially through the cup spring and radially at least into the enlargements to fasten the cup spring in the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4368812
Abstract: A clutch plate for use in the friction clutch of an automotive vehicle has a driving unit with two spaced apart discs which are riveted to each other and one of which carries friction linings adapted to be driven by the flywheel when the clutch is engaged, and a driven unit which is connected to the driving unit by prestressed springs so that the driving unit can turn relative to the driven unit within a given range. The driven unit has a hub which drives the input shaft of the transmission and carries a flange between the two discs. An elastic washer is inserted in prestressed condition between the flange and one of the discs to damp the movements of the two units relative to each other, at least within a portion of the aforementioned range.

  • Patent number: 4325472
Abstract: The combination, including a flywheel couplable to and uncouplable from an internal-combustion engine, depending upon specific circumstances, and a clutch for coupling the flywheel to and for uncoupling the flywheel from the internal-combustion engine, the clutch comprising an entrainer disc secured to a rotatable part of the internal-combustion engine against axial and rotary displacement relative thereto, the entrainer disc having two friction surfaces, a pair of pressure plates each having a respective opposing friction surface located on opposite sides of the entrainer disc, a cup spring actuatable for positively moving the pressure plates in opposite directions, the cup spring having a radially outer region operatively engageable with one of the pressure plates, and a radially inner region operatively engageable with the other of the pressure plates, an axially fixed tilting support being disposed on an axially fixed part of the flywheel, the flywheel part being mounted for relative rotation with the rot
