  • Patent number: 6391151
Abstract: Process for dissolving used paper including adjusting a content of solid particles of used paper to a range between about 15 and 35%, kneading the used paper with a specific work of at least about 10 kWh/t, diluting the kneaded used paper to a content of solid particles below about 6%, separating non-fibrous contaminants with wet screening, adjusting a solid material content to less than about 3%, and separating heavy particles with at least one hydrocyclone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 4, 2001
Date of Patent: May 21, 2002
    Assignee: Voith Paper Patent GmbH
Inventors: Jürgen Dockal-Baur, Axel Gommel, Wolfgang Müller, Harald Selder, Andreas Steidele, Klaus Steinbild
  • Publication number: 20010010294
Abstract: The process is designed for the flotation of interfering materials from an aqueous fibrous pulp suspension and is in particular used in the processing of printed or used paper that is otherwise contaminated. The separation of gas bubbles of the suspension occurs in a flotation layer that has a maximum thickness of approximately 100 mm. The process also achieves good flotation results in fibrous pulp suspensions that have a fiber pulp content significantly larger than 1 % by weight, for example around 2% by weight. A flotation apparatus is provided for performing the flotation process. The apparatus includes a flotation vessel, an inlet, an outlet, and a skimmer device.

  • Patent number: 6000640
Abstract: Process and device for decomposing fibrous material in an installation including a drum having an inner wall, a first end, and a second end, a displacer having an outer wall positioned inside the drum, and a processing channel formed between at least a portion of the outer wall and at least a portion of the inner wall. The process includes pouring fibrous material to be decomposed into the drum, relatively moving the outer wall relative to the inner wall in a peripheral direction of the drum, and mechanically processing the fibrous material in the processing channel.
