  • Patent number: 10173234
Abstract: A trigger pump dispenser comprises a body, an outlet nozzle, a pump chamber, a piston for defining a variable volume in the pump chamber, a trigger coupled with the piston by interconnection means, and biasing means for biasing the trigger to a retracted position. The trigger is movable to cause the piston to pump liquid into and out of the pump chamber for dispensing through the outlet nozzle. The piston is interchangeably associatable with the trigger and the pump chamber so that different length pistons are usable to determine different maximum fill volumes of the pump chamber.

  • Patent number: 9617050
Abstract: A closure assembly has a closure cap (2) adapted to be fitted to the neck of container to close the container. The cap (2) has an upper wall (4) and a cylindrical skirt (5) depending therefrom. A reservoir (7) is formed on the underside of the upper wall (4) radially within the skirt (5) and has a dispensing opening (9). A closing member (3) is fitted into the closure cap (2) to close the dispensing opening in the reservoir. When the closure cap (2) is removed from the container, the closing member (3) remains held within the neck of the container and is separated from the closure cap so that the dispensing opening is opened and material contained therein is dispensed into the container. The closure cap is provided with sealing means for directly sealing against the neck of a container such as an annular wall (12) extendin downwardly from the underside of the upper wall of the closure cap (2) to fit sealingly into the neck of the container.

  • Patent number: 5984149
Abstract: A trigger pump dispenser is made entirely from thermoplastic resin materials. It has a trigger (17) pivotally attached to the body (13) at its top end. The trigger is attached by a living hinge to a piston 16 movable within a pump cylinder (40), and is biased by a spring (18) to the retracted position shown. The spring is generally L-shaped and anchored to the body by its bottom leg so as to straddle the pump cylinder. A unitary valve member (15) located at the back of the pump cylinder provides one-way valves both for product dispensing and for product recharging into the pump chamber.

  • Patent number: 5884820
Abstract: A trigger pump dispenser has a unitary valve member (15) which is push-fitted into the back of the pump chamber (38). The valve member is moulded from a thermoplastic elastomer and has an inner dome (116) arranged to form the one-way valve in the inlet flow path, and an external skirt (112) arranged to form the one-way valve in the outlet flow path. Apertures (120) formed around the dome form a part of both flow paths. The trigger (17) of the dispenser is secured to the piston (16) by an integral extension (54) which is attached by a living hinge (52), and the spring (18) for the trigger is generally L-shaped, its lower arm being secured to the dispenser body (13) and its upper arm being flexible and resilient and having its free end snap-engaged in a socket formed in the back of the trigger.

  • Patent number: 5368176
Abstract: A snap hinge closure has a lid which pivots about a main axis of rotation with film hinges aligned therewith. When the lid is closed, no parts of the hinge project beyond the surfaces of the closure.

  • Patent number: 5335802
Abstract: The closure (1) consists of a tubular base portion (2) and a cap (3). Considered in the direction of the axis (17) of the base portion (2), in the closed position the outer contour of the cap (3) is within the interior contour of the base portion (2). Cap and base portion are connected to each other in a single unit by a snap hinge and injection molded in a closed position. Extending from the snap hinge, cap and base portion are additionally connected together by a safety strap (40), which is to safeguard against unintentional premature opening of the closure (tamper evidence). The closure enables a marked productivity increase during manufacture.

  • Patent number: 5143234
Abstract: This invention is directed towards improvements in snap hinge dispensing closures for molded plastic bottles. In particular, snap hinge closures of single walled construction are provided with means for positively aligning with the front of the bottle, and a relatively deeper thumb recess for facilitating lifting of a snap hinge closure lid. Means are also disclosed to prevent reverse rotation of the closure once positive alignment is achieved. Other disclosed features include a plug to prevent leakage of the bottle contents and means for preventing axial pivoting of the closure.

  • Patent number: 5067624
Abstract: A closure of plastic, especially polypropylene, for the necks of containers, especially bottles. The outer wall (8) of the closure flares lengthwise of the neck from the top end of the closure down to a circumferential line (29) of maximum size and tapers again toward the bottom end of the closure. The bottom part (2) and lid (26) of the closure are joined together by a snap hinge (28). This snap hinge is integral with the bottom part and lid and is situated in their outer walls. The depth of the main part (26.1) of the lid (26) is substantially less than the difference in level of the closure between its circumferential line (29) of maximum size and its upper end. For its connection to the snap hinge (28) the lid has an arm (26.3) on one side. The active elements of the snap hinge are disposed symmetrically with the circumferential line (29). This closure has a lid of relatively small size and can be made with a two-part injection mold which does not need to have any lateral slides.

  • Patent number: 4877144
Abstract: A threaded sleeve of plastics material, e.g. in the form of a cap, which is suitable for screwing onto a bottle opening with an external thread. The thread of the threaded sleeve is divided into segments. These segments can be separated from one another in the peripheral direction by spaces of at least 0.4 mm and can have a length in the peripheral direction of 3 to 10 mm. Threaded sleeves of this type can be manufactured with simply constructed moulds and demoulded in a simple manner. After the demoulding the thread segments do not mark the external wall of the threaded sleeves.
