  • Patent number: 6357371
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing sewn seams and a device for carrying out the method. The invention includes two sewing needles of which all moving parts are situated only on one side of the textile. Two or more sewing needles move obliquely and alternately penetrate the entire sewing material. The loop formed by a sewing thread is taken up by the next penetrating needle. The following penetrating needle then transfers the loops of the sewing thread. The sewing needles move three-dimensionally. The method and device are suitable for sewing large, curved material that should not be creased, for example, reinforcement fabric for fiber reinforced materials.
