  • Patent number: 11739798
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a claw coupling for interlockingly connecting a first rotatable component to a second rotatable component, wherein a sliding sleeve is non-rotatably and axially slidably arranged on the first rotatable component and a coupling body is non-rotatably arranged on the second rotatable component, the sliding sleeve being axially movable for interlocking connection to the coupling body in order to connect the first component to the second component, at least one spring-loaded shifting ring being movably mounted, non-rotatably and axially relative to the sliding sleeve, on the sliding sleeve, and a damping chamber, formed in dependence on the relative motion, is provided in order to delay the axial motion. The disclosure further relates to an electrical drive axle of a vehicle having at least the claw coupling. In addition, the disclosure relates to a method for interlockingly connecting the first rotatable component to the second rotatable component via a claw coupling.

  • Publication number: 20120114481
Abstract: A wind turbine includes a rotor and a main shaft, wherein the main shaft is coupled to the rotor for transforming wind energy into kinetic energy of rotation of the main shaft. The main shaft is mechanically coupled to a main generator of the wind turbine, wherein the main generator transforms kinetic energy of rotation into electrical energy. Further, a brake system is provided which has an energy recovery arrangement for recovering at least part of the kinetic energy of the rotation of the main shaft when a rotational speed of the rotor is reduced by the brake system.

  • Publication number: 20120076652
Abstract: A wind turbine active damping arrangement for damping forces exerted on a component connected to a main shaft of a wind turbine is proposed. The damping arrangement comprises a smart fluid damper and a control device for controlling a field generator of the smart fluid damper to control the extent of damping according to a performance parameter of the wind turbine. The smart fluid damper comprises a closed chamber containing a smart fluid and a piston. The piston travels along a direction in the chamber and comprises a channel through which the smart fluid can flow. The smart fluid damper comprises a field generator for generating a field across the smart fluid and an input for a field generator control signal for controlling the field generator to alter the field according to the performance parameter of the wind turbine.

  • Publication number: 20110254279
Abstract: A wind turbine is provided. The wind turbine includes a housing containing a main shaft a first generator with a stator and a rotor, and a second generator with a stator and a rotor. The first generator is mounted on a blade side of the main shaft whereas the second generator is mounted on the opposite side of the main shaft. The stator of the first generator is encircled by the rotor of the first generator and the stator of the second generator is encircled by the rotor of the second generator.

  • Publication number: 20110206310
Abstract: A bearing system for a wind turbine rotor is provided. The bearing system includes a double row tapered roller bearing in O-arrangement, wherein the double row tapered roller bearing has an inner ring, a circumferential row of tapered rollers supported on the inner ring, and a floating inner rib. Further, the bearing system includes a driving device as well as a removable interlocking device. The floating inner rib is axially moved by the driving device to a predetermined position so as to abut on each large roller end facing axially outwards in order to apply a corresponding preload on each tapered roller, and is also rigidly coupled to the inner ring by the interlocking device.

  • Publication number: 20110179843
Abstract: A method for hardening a surface of a component in a wind turbine is disclosed. The component to be hardened includes a surface and the surface is applied with a blasting material by ultrasound waves. The component is a part of a drive or a drive housing, a bearing surface, a gear wheel or a pinion. The ultrasound waves are emitted with the aid of a piezo electric transducer.
