  • Patent number: 12234303
Abstract: The present invention is directed to the use of a quaternized derivative of polyisobutylene as stabiliser in inverse emulsions like inverse emulsions used for a reverse-phase emulsion polymerisation process, e.g. for the polymerisation of acrylamide and ethylenically unsaturated cationic monomers. Such emulsions are e.g. used as flocculant for waste water treatment. The present invention is further directed to inverse emulsions comprising a quaternized derivative of polyisobutylene. The inverse emulsions have sufficiently low viscosity and sufficiently high shear stability. The present invention is further directed to an inverse emulsion polymerisation process, wherein the inverse emulsion comprises a quaternized derivative of polyisobutylene.

  • Publication number: 20240200925
Abstract: A system for measuring a conveyor belt includes a first detector fixed at a location along a path of a conveyor belt. A first signal generator is affixed at a first location of the conveyor belt such that the first signal generator is detectable by the first detector when the first signal generator is in range of the first detector. The first detector is configured to provide a first signal as the first signal generator approaches the first detector. The first detector is configured to provide a second signal as the first signal generator moves away from the first detector. A processor is in electronic communication with the first detector and configured to calculate a belt speed based on an elapsed time between the first signal and the second signal.

  • Publication number: 20220143830
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method, system, and non-volatile storage medium for simplifying the automation of a process of flow. The method may include determining a machine-independent process model based on data representing a handling of a work tool for performing a process flow. The process flow may include a plurality of sub-processes and the process model may link a process activity with spatial information for each sub-process. The method may also include mapping the machine-independent process model to a machine-specific control model of a machine using a model of the machine. The machine-specific control model may define an operating point of the machine for each sub-process, and the operating point may correspond to the process activity and to the spatial information.

  • Patent number: 10082466
Abstract: In an optical-based sample analysis, for example fluorescence-based or absorbance-based measurement, a selection is made between a first excitation light path and a second excitation light path. The first excitation light path directs excitation light from a light source, through an excitation monochromator, through an excitation filter, and to a sample. The second excitation light path directs excitation light from the light source, through the excitation filter, and to the sample while bypassing the excitation monochromator. Excitation light generated by the light source is transmitted along either the first excitation light path or the second excitation light path in accordance with the selection made, thereby irradiating the sample. In response the sample produces emission light (transmitted light in the case of absorbance measurements), which is transmitted to and measured by a light detector.

  • Patent number: 8141300
Abstract: A method for calibrating a powered actuator for use in a vehicle is provided, with regard to an end position of an actuating element which is easy to achieve and conserves easily damaged mechanical components of the actuator made from plastic, rubber or similar. According to an example embodiement, in a calibrating step, the actuator is operated with recording and analysis of an actuation speed measured parameter such that the actuating element is moved in the direction of the end position and reaching the end position is recognized when the value of the actuation speed measured parameter reaches or drops below a given threshold. A temperature parameter characterizing the temperature of the actuator is evaluated before or during the calibration process. The calibration step is then only carried out if the value of the temperature parameter does not exceed an upper temperature limit. An actuator suitable for carrying out said method is also disclosed.
