  • Patent number: 11867711
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measurement of density of a photosensitive printing plate (130) having a mask (132) embodying image information corresponding to an image to be printed. A density measurement system includes a first radiation source (112) spaced apart from and adjacent the plate and configured to emit radiation having a first wavelength or range of wavelengths toward the plate. A densitometer (110) spaced apart from and adjacent the plate in a fixed relationship relative to the first radiation source receives and measures an amount of the first radiation transmitted through or reflected by the plate and the mask during relative movement between the plate and the density measurement system. The densitometer readings are processed to provide an output correlating to quality of the mask. The density measurement system may be coupled to an exposure system (120,122,124) for curing the plate.

  • Publication number: 20220305769
Abstract: A source of actinic radiation for curing printing plates. The source includes a base with a heat sink and has a length greater than its width. One or more circuit boards mounted on the base provide a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) distributed over the length of the base. A transparent or translucent cover together with the base defines an enclosure for the plurality of LEDs. The source provides the radiation at an emission angle greater than the emission angles of a single LED in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the base, in a plane containing the axis of the base or parallel to the axis of the base and perpendicular to the target illumination plane, or a combination thereof. The source may be configured to replace a fluorescent bulb. Methods and systems for bank exposure of printing plates using such sources are also described.

Abstract: A combined radiation and functional layer application system includes one or more radiation sources and a commonly located functional layer application unit configured to dispose a functional layer over the surface of a fixed target ahead of the radiation sources during relative motion between the target and the radiation sources/application unit. System and method embodiments include those in which the target is stationary or moving, and embodiments in which the functional layer is applied as a liquid or as a solid laminate. Embodiments relate to application of an oxygen-blocking layer of a printing plate prior to exposure to actinic radiation. • Patent number: 11292443
Abstract: A method for functional testing of an electromechanical fill level monitoring device. In order to test the plausibility of a signal emitted by a fill level monitoring device of a first pressure medium chamber, a forced actuation of this fill level monitoring device is carried from time to time. This forced actuation is carried out in that a pressure medium delivery unit in a pressure medium circuit having the first pressure medium chamber is activated for a predefined period. This delivers the pressure medium fill level monitoring device into a second pressure medium chamber via a pressure medium connection. On the basis of the signal profile output by the fill level monitoring device, the proper operation of the fill level monitoring device is inferred in the electronic control unit.

  • Patent number: 9909902
Abstract: A sensor arrangement for detecting a pedal movement in a vehicle includes a measurement value transmitter that is arranged on a piston that is translated by the pedal movement and a measurement value sensor that is arranged in a stationary manner in the movement region of the piston. The measurement value sensor in connection with the measurement value transmitter generates a signal that represents the pedal movement. The measurement value transmitter and the measurement value sensor are configured as inductive sensors. The measurement value transmitter has at least one detection region, and the measurement value sensor has at least one detection coil. The at least one detection region of the measurement value transmitter influences the inductance of the at least one detection coil such that the changing inductance of the at least one detection coil of the measurement value sensor is interpreted as a measure of the pedal movement.

  • Patent number: 9587836
Abstract: For operating a gas hob having at least two gas burners which can be operated separately and which each have a nozzle, a dedicated gas valve for adjusting a gas supply to the gas burner is associated with each gas burner. The nozzle of a gas burner has an opening cross-section which is 10% to 30% larger than the opening cross-section which is required for the rated power of the gas burner. During normal operation of the gas burner, the associated gas valve is adjusted to a rated throughput. During operation of the gas burner under excess power with full utilization of the full opening cross-section of the nozzle, the gas valve is opened further and adjusted to an excess power throughput.
