  • Publication number: 20130196091
Abstract: A fire-resistant glass unit is provided having at least two transparent carrier elements, in particular glass panes, and an intermediate layer between the carrier elements, this layer expanding for example in the event of a fire, or a gas-releasing intermediate layer, which builds up a pressure between the carrier elements. At least one glass pane of the fire-resistant glass unit, preferably the two outermost glass panes, or even all the glass panes adjacent to an intermediate layer, are provided with specific local weakening as a defined breaking point. A predetermined breaking point may be, for example, a groove or milled recess, in particular a notch.

  • Patent number: 8316584
Abstract: The invention relates to a fireproofing element comprising a fireproof glazed element (1) which forms a window or door leaf (8). A bulkhead frame (3) is arranged around the door leaf (8), inserted in the building (2). A deformable component (28) is built in between the bulkhead frame (3) and the building (2). At least one telescopic element (15) is arranged between a lateral edge (10) of the door leaf (8) and the bulkhead frame (3). Said telescopic element (15) is displaceable relative to the bulkhead frame (3) in the direction of the arrows (20). The telescopic element (15) can compensate for changes in the joint (50) between the door leaf (8) and the bulkhead frame (3) and/or also seal said joint (50). Changes in length as a result of heating of the components during a fire can thus be accommodated and the door leaf (8) and fireproofing glazed element (1) hence not destroyed.

  • Patent number: 7155869
Abstract: The invention relates to a fixing element for maintaining a composite glass pane. Glass components are assembled and a fixing element is provided for fixing by force or positive engagement to a support structure. The safety elements form a receiving plane.

  • Patent number: 6787214
Abstract: Fire-retardant sheet element can be composed of several fire protection glass plates (2, 3). Lateral edges (9, 10) of adjacent glass plates (2, 3) therein abut one another. Into the interspace (26) between lateral edges (9, 10) a sealing configuration (7) is installed. This comprises an addition element (22) and elastic sealing elements (23, 24). The glass plates (2, 3) comprise several glass panes (16) and interspaced fire protection layers (18). These fire protection layers (18) do not extend up to the edges (9, 10) and are sealed in the regions of the lateral edges with a barrier material (20). No additional frame elements for covering the interspace (26) and for sealing are necessary.

  • Patent number: 6574929
Abstract: A fire-resistant wall (2) has a window consisting of a fire window (1). The fire window (1) is a monolithic or laminate with the properties of a safety glass. At its end faces (4), it is immediately contiguous with an adjacent construction wall part, with the formation of a narrow joint. It is supported by supporting arms (15), via fasteners (7) which are introduced into holes (6) in the pane (1). The fasteners (7) are provided with articulations (11, 12) which follow the bowing of the pane (1) in the event of a fire.

  • Publication number: 20020043034
Abstract: A fire-resistant wall (2) has a window consisting of a fire window (1). The fire window (1) is a monolithic or laminated pane of prestressed glass with the properties of a safety glass. At its end faces (4), it is immediately contiguous with the face of the reveal (3) of the adjacent construction wall part, with the formation of a narrow joint. It is supported by supporting arms (15), via fasteners (7) which are introduced into holes (6) in the pane (1).
