  • Patent number: 5260375
Abstract: Thermoplastic molding materials of improved green strength and impact toughness at low temperatures which are useful for producing injection moldings and are based on a TPU copolymer mixture, contain, based on 100 parts by weight,A) from 20 to 90 parts by weight of at least one thermoplastic polyurethane,B) from 1 to 40 parts by weight of at least one elastomeric graft copolymer formed fromB1) a grafting base comprising an elastomeric polymer having a glass transition temperature of below -20.degree. C. based on butadiene or an acrylate of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol moiety with or without a crosslinker andB2) a graft superstratum prepared by single- or multi-stage copolymerization of styrene, .alpha.-methylstyrene, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile and methyl methacrylate or of a mixture of at least two of said monomers,C) from 5 to 75 parts by weight of at least one copolymer prepared by copolymerization of, based on the total weight of (C),C1) from 55 to 90% by weight of .alpha.

  • Patent number: 5237000
Abstract: Impact modified thermoplastic polyurethane-polyester molding materials containing, based on 100 parts by weight of (A) to (C),A) from 30 to 90 parts by weight of at least one thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer,B) from 5 to 65 parts by weight of at least one thermoplastic polyester, preferably a polyalkylene terephthalate, andC) from 5 to 30 parts by weight of at least one graft rubber based on a polybutadiene (C1) or polyacrylate (C2) or a mixture of these graft rubbers andD) from 0 to 60% by weight of at least one fibrous or particulate filler andE) from 0 to 10% by weight of at least one assistant, the weight percentages being based on the weight of (A) to (C), are prepared by homogenizing the formative components at 190.degree.-250.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4526952
Abstract: Antistatic and/or electrically conductive thermoplastic polyurethanes contain carbon black whose surface area determined by the BET method is from 600 to 1200 m.sup.2 /g, have a dibutylphthalate absorption number of 300 to 450 cm.sup.3 /100 g, a pour density of less than 250 kg/m.sup.3, and an average particle size less than 50 nm.Incorporation of the carbon black into the thermoplastic polyurethane produced by the continuous sheet method takes place at temperatures under the primary melt peak for the crystalline rigid segments, measured by means of differential calorimetry, preferably in an extruder. The products are suitable for preparing films for flat heating elements, antistatic hoses, cables, and profiles.
