  • Patent number: 5273514
Abstract: A flexible pouch is made having a gusseted bottom structure and an inwardly folded top structure from two webs. A first web is folded over on itself to form an inverted U-shape portion and excess web material is pushed inwardly at the top of the fold to create a U-shaped fold at the top of the pouch. A second web is moved into contact with the open end to form the gusseted bottom. The webs are sealed and served to form the individual pouches.

  • Patent number: 5059035
Abstract: A flexible pouch having opposed walls closed around their periphery to define a chamber for storing a product. The pouch has a self-opening spout forming in part by a fold assembly which expands and springs open when the sealed end of the spout is cut off. The fold assembly not only provides a large spout opening, but also provides a spring force which keeps the spout open so that all the product may be emptied from the chamber.

  • Patent number: 5005734
Abstract: A flexible pouch made from at least one layer of plastic material bonded to form a closed inner chamber for storing liquid. Peripheral portions of the wall material are contoured and then bonded to form a closed pouring spout at a corner of the pouch. The configuration of the spout is defined by the contour of the bonding in the vicinity of that pouch corner. The pouring spout is opened by cutting the pouch corner at an angle. The flexible walls of the pouch are reinforced in the vicinity of the pouring spout to prevent folding. The open spout is intended to be inserted in the open neck of a container to be refilled.
