  • Publication number: 20090323465
Abstract: The present invention is related to an apparatus for massaging and/or tumbling of a product with a drum and a shaft with paddles rotated by a motor.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 6, 2007
    Publication date: December 31, 2009
    Applicant: CFS BAKEL B.V.

  • Patent number: 5364251
Abstract: Worm pump for thick media and/or media containing lumps, e.g., meat in pieces, of the kind comprising a tubular housing with an inlet and an outlet, a worm rotor rotatably supported in the housing, and a worm-gate assembly comprising a number of gate members adapted during the rotation of the worm to protrude into and follow the latter's convolutions and thus prevent the medium being pumped from following the rotation of the worm rotor. The worm-gate assembly comprises a number of loose gate members slidingly supported in an endless track of which a substantially rectilinear portion extends alongside and parallel to the worm rotor.

    Assignee: Simo Industries A/S
    Inventor: Knud Simonsen
  • Patent number: 5200223
Abstract: Instead of using injection needles, that have to be inserted into and withdrawn from the meat with the latter substantially stationary relative to the needles, the method and apparatus of the invention use high-pressure nozzles (11) directing powerful jets of liquid penetrating into the meat to the requisite depth, preferably while the meat is being conveyed through a set of conduits, including a unit (7) containing said nozzles (11), preferably also a vibration-massage unit (8) and a deformation-massage unit (9), before being delivered through an outlet unit (10).

  • Patent number: 4728272
Abstract: In a fluid displacement machine with a rotor ring (7) rotatably supported about a fixed axis (6) and carrying a number of radially movable vanes (a-h), the latter being held in fluid-tight contact with the chamber wall (5) of the machine housing (3) by a stationary vane guide block (9), the new feature is that the vane guide block (9) is loosely supported inside the rotor ring (7), where it is held in its working position by the revolving vanes (a-h).With this arrangement it is possible to dispense with special securing means for the guide block (9), thus making it possible to connect both ends of the rotor ring (7) (i.e. both in front of and behind the plane of the Figure) with the drive shaft (18), resulting in a considerable increase in the mechanical strength of the machine, so that it may be used for rough work, such as pumping comminuted meat containing fragments of bone.

  • Patent number: 4613085
Abstract: A feed worm located at the bottom of an infeeding hopper is shaped in the form of at least one convolution or turn, without a central core or shaft. The sharp edge or knife edge of the feed worm lying forwardmost in the direction of rotation attacks a block of frozen meat at a location higher than by using previously known feed worms having a central shaft and core. The central shaft or core prevents the frozen block from moving in the downward direction as far as is possible with a feed worm devoid of a core or central shaft. The feed worm includes a thick-walled tube of steel in which over one-half of the tube has been cut away along helical surfaces forming sharp edges with the outside surface of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4606505
Abstract: In a meat comminuting machine for emulsifying and/or finely comminuting meat into forcemeat, the machine includes an inlet hopper, a conveyor worm including a feed section and a delivery section leading to a cutting device with rotating knives having a considerably greater diameter than the feed section, at least the knives and the delivery section of the conveyor worm are rotated at such a high speed, that these components together with a portion of the machine's housing act as a centrifugal pump with axial entry and exit.

  • Patent number: 4522118
Abstract: A vacuum processing apparatus having a chamber, defining an open bottom, and having a closed top, the size of such chamber being sufficient to receive a processing container, and the height of such chamber being sufficient to fit completely over such container, and stirring means extending downwardly within the chamber to extend into the container, when enclosed within said chamber, and having power operated rotating means and sealing means around the open bottom of the chamber, for forming a good air-tight seal, means for raising and lowering the chamber and means for evacuating air from said chamber. Also disclosed is a method of processing the contents of a container, in which the contents are first stirred in a container by a stirrer at atmospheric pressure and are then further stirred, in the same container under vacuum, by means of a stirrer located in a vacuum chamber.

  • Patent number: 4498378
Abstract: Apparatus for processing meat sections under atmospheric pressure and under a high vacuum, and having, a container of generally square cross-section and having an open top, reinforcing members attached at spaced apart intervals on the exterior of each of the side walls and further reinforcing members on the exterior of the bottom wall, a closure for the top to hermetically seal it, a stirring shaft and arms supported on the closure and a stirring motor with a shaft extending through the closure to the stirring shaft, reinforcing bars extending across the upper surface of the closure, and a hose connection on the closure for connection to a suitable vacuum pump.

  • Patent number: 4309795
Abstract: A process for the scalding and de-hairing of hogs under improved sanitary conditions comprising conveying the hog in an essentially horizontal manner, along a predetermined treatment path, continuously spraying the hog while on such treatment path, with clean water at between 62.degree. C. and 63.degree. C., continuously rotating the hog while moving along such treatment path, continuously scraping the hog to remove hair while moving along such treatment path, collecting the water beneath the hog, filtering the water, passing it into an evaporation chamber, and evaporating the water to produce water vapor, removing contaminants from said evaporation chamber, and passing said vapor to a condenser chamber and continuously condensing said vapor therein to provide clean uncontaminated water, for spraying onto the hog as aforesaid. The invention further comprises apparatus for carrying out the process.
