  • Patent number: 8101074
Abstract: A permeate tube for spiral wound membrane comprising at least one tubular unit, which unit has spaced along its length a plurality of permeate transfer means, and one or more external grooves forming flow channels connecting the permeate transfer means. The present invention relates further to a process for treating a material having a viscosity less than 50 cP by the use of a spiral wound membrane comprising a permeate tube having at least one tubular unit, which unit has spaced along its length a plurality of permeate transfer means, and one or more external grooves forming flow channels connecting the permeate transfer means, around the permeate tube are one or more permeate transfer leaves, one or more membrane leaves and one or more space leaves wound. The present invention relates also to a process of operating a spiral wound membrane. The present invention relates further to uses of the spiral wound membrane.

  • Publication number: 20080156718
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spacer for membrane modules comprising at least one inserted element and support members, the support members being spaced apart by the at least one inserted element forming flow channels between the support members and the inserted element for guiding permeates to the at least one permeate collection device, which at least one permeate collection device being in perpendicular contact with the flow channels, or guiding concentrate through flow channel out of the membrane module. The invention relates further to a membrane module comprising the permeate spacer, uses of the membrane module and a spiral wound membrane comprising the permeate spacer.

  • Patent number: 7087167
Abstract: A sanitary filtration plant including an oblong, tubular pressure vessel having one or more helical filter elements. Each helical filter element has a spiral-wound filter member and a central tube and, at an outlet end, a supporting structure formed as a wheel with a hub, spokes and a rim. The plane side of the downstream face of each supporting structure is provided with a plurality of recesses that are positioned between an opening between the spokes and the external periphery of the rim and extend circumferentially so as to be substantially concentric with said rim.

  • Publication number: 20040026310
Abstract: A sanitary filtration plant comprises an oblong, tubular pressure vessel (1), which includes one or more helical filter elements (2 to 4). Each helical filter element comprises a spiral-wound filter member (5 to 7) and a central tube (8 to 10). At the end being the outlet end, each helical filter element (2 to 4) comprises a supporting means (19, 20, 21) formed as a wheel with a hub (22), spokes and a rim (31) and centrally a transition means (35). The transition means is adapted to ensure a sealing flow connection between abutting ends of central tubes (8 to 10). In addition, each supporting means (18 to 21) comprises plane sides for abutment against the ends of the filter members of the respective helical filter elements (19 to 21), and along the external periphery they comprise a sealing means (39) for a sealing abutment against the inner side of the pressure vessel (1).
