  • Patent number: 10323850
Abstract: A dehumidifier for air is provided. The dehumidifier includes a housing with an inlet for process air, an outlet for process air, and an opening for regeneration air. The dehumidifier includes a dehumidification element, a fan for bringing process air to flow through at least a first portion of the dehumidification element, and a heating element to heat a part of process air flowing through the dehumidification element for regeneration of the dehumidification element by using the heated process air. A controller controls the amount of air that flows though the outlet for process air and the opening for regeneration air and the sensor/meter to calculate consumed power for the heating element, wherein the heating element is a PTC heater. The controller allows a user in a simple way to adjust the operating parameters to a desired operating mode.

  • Publication number: 20170227241
Abstract: An apparatus for dehumidification of air comprises a housing (2) provided with an inlet (3) for process air, an outlet (4) for process air and an opening (17) for regeneration air, a dehumidification element (6), a fan (10) for bringing process air to flow through at least a first portion of the dehumidification element, and a heating element (15) adapted to heat a part of process air flowing through the dehumidification element for regeneration of the dehumidification element by means of the heated process air. By providing control means (4a, 10, 17a, 17b) adapted to control the amount of air that flows though the outlet (4) for process air and the opening (17) for regeneration air and means (6b, 15a; 25) adapted to calculate consumed power for the heating element, wherein the heating element (15) is a PTC heater, a user can in a simple way adjust the operating parameters to a desired operating mode.

  • Publication number: 20050257394
Abstract: In a method of drying a water-damaged building with the aid of drying plant (1) that includes a drying rotor (2) or some other other device which delivers dry air to the drying process, and a high-pressure turbine or a fan (3) for transportation of air, the turbine (3) is caused, alternatively, to press dry air into a water-damaged space (10a) in the building (10) or to suck moist air from such a space. In these operational modes, the turbine (3) co-acts with means, e.g. pipes (4, 5) and/or valve-equipped conduits (e.g. 7; 15) which facilitate switching between the two disparate operational modes. The invention also relates to drying plant that functions in accordance with the inventive method.

  • Patent number: 5443624
Abstract: A method and apparatus for increasing the yield of an air-drying process with the aid of a dehumidifier 2 and a condenser/heat-exchanger 3 involves delivering wet regenerating air exiting the dehumidifier to one side of the condenser/heat-exchanger so as to deliver energy to the process air entering the other side. Condensation deriving from the regenerating air is collected and carried away, and the heated, dried process air 21 is delivered to the dehumidifier in which moisture is extracted from the air and the air further dried. The departing wet regenerating air may, after its delivery process, be led to the room, atmosphere or the flow of process air.

  • Patent number: 5147420
Abstract: There is described a method of drying air with the aid of a rotor (6) which rotates continuously in a housing (2) and which incorporates moisture-sorbent means. The housing (2) has mounted therein a casing (12) which is located on the low-pressure side of the rotor and provided with heat-emitting devices, for instance electrical elements (15), for delivering radiant heat directly to the rotor interior. The heat required for regeneration is therewith delivered at high temperature, which increases the heat yield. The part of the rotor (7) which is normally the most difficult to regenerate is therewith heated to a temperature of 250.degree.-300.degree. C. Since the volume of regeneration air is smaller than normal, the air is heated to a temperature which is much higher than normal in all parts of the rotor, so as to result in effective removal of the moisture present. The invention also relates to an air dryer by means of which the method can be put into effect.
