  • Publication number: 20190084831
Abstract: A process for generating power using a gas turbine, comprising the steps of: (i) vaporising and pre-heating liquid ammonia to produce pre-heated ammonia gas; (ii) introducing the pre-heated ammonia gas into an ammonia-cracking device suitable for converting ammonia gas into a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen; (iii) converting the pre-heated ammonia gas into a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen in the device; (iv) cooling the mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen to give a cooled hydrogen and nitrogen mixture; (v) introducing the cooled hydrogen and nitrogen mixture into a gas turbine; and (vi) combusting the cooled hydrogen and nitrogen mixture in the gas turbine to generate power.

  • Publication number: 20120174784
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for capturing C02 from a gas stream (10) by introducing droplets of an absorption liquid (15, 17, 40) into the gas stream mainly in the flow direction of the gas. According to the invention, CO2 is captured from the gas stream during a capture phase by means of the absorption liquid droplets, where the absorption liquid droplets are airborne during the capture phase, absorption liquid droplets are introduced into the gas stream with a velocity high enough to ensure internal circulation inside the absorption liquid droplets, and the absorption liquid droplets are introduced into the gas stream with a Sauter mean diameter in the range of 50 10E-6 m-500 10E-6·m. An apparatus suitable for conducting said method is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20120174782
Abstract: A process for absorption and desorption of CO2 from an flue gas comprising feeding the flue gas into a mainly horizontal channel (20, 22, 249 where an absorption fluid is spray in to the channel in the flow direction of the flue gas and collected as CO2 rich absorption fluid at a lower part of the channel and transported into the centre of a rotating desorber wheel (30), where the CO2 is desorbed and the lean absorption fluid is returned to the channel is disclosed. This process can be utilized with absorption fluids with high concentration of conventional amine CO2 absorbents. Disclosed is also the use of an amine absorbent in a concentration of between 61 and 100% by weight for the absorption of CO2 from a gas stream, where the amine is an alkanol amine.

  • Publication number: 20080263832
Abstract: The present invention relates to a reactor for mixing and reacting two or more fluids as well as transferring heat between said fluids. Said reactor comprises a pressure vessel (g) having at least one inlet and one outlet and which enclose a multi-channel monolithic structure (f), a manifold assembly (b) sealed to one end of said structure where the channel openings are, for feeding fluid to said structure and discharging fluid from said structure, a means (h) sealed to the opposite end of said structure where said manifold assembly is sealed, for changing the direction of fluid flow path 180 degrees when said flow leaves the channels in said structure. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for operating said reactor.

  • Publication number: 20040170557
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hydrogen- and nitrogen containing gas mixture, where a mixture of steam and a carbon containing gas is fed to the retentate side of at least one hydrogen transport membrane syngas and sweep gas generator where said gas and steam are converted to synthesis gas. A part of the hydrogen in said synthesis gas is transported through the membrane to the permeate side in said generator where it reacts with oxygen in an air stream fed to said permeate side to generate heat and a nitrogen and steam containing gas.
