  • Patent number: 6048024
Abstract: A fan device which is built into a vehicle chair, and is arranged to ventilate away air that is drawn through the covering and filling of the vehicle chair, which has an electrically driven fan (9) of radial type attached at the bottom of the chair. The fan wheel (17) extends from the driving cover (14) of the motor (13), which extends up into the inlet (30) of the fan. The fan (9) is attached to a carrying means (39) in the chair which is located on the underside of the filling (40) and has passages (65) for the ventilating air adjacent to the fan inlet.

  • Patent number: 4120084
Abstract: A lug-and-hole connection between a first, lug-bearing sheet metal element and a second, apertured sheet metal element is made by so forming the hole in the first element that it is bounded by out-turned, opposite, convergent wall portions spaced apart, at the narrowest distance between them, by a distance slightly less than the lug thickness. The hole is made without removing material from the first element, as by forcing through it the wedge-shaped tip of a chisel-like punch while backing that element with a flat-topped die having cylindrical cavity. After the lug is inserted into the hole, a tip portion of the lug, which projects beyond the wall portions, is swaged to form it into a rivet-like head that snugly overlies the outer edges of the wall portions, but the wall portions are not reworked in the head forming operation.

  • Patent number: 4041593
Abstract: A rotor for a cross-flow blower has narrow elongated blades fixed in slots in the peripheral portions of a plurality of parallel discs spaced from one another along the rotor axis. The blades have curved cross sections, and each has creased portions received in the slots in the discs. The creased portions are formed to have supporting and stabilizing engagement with the opposite side edges of the slots and with opposite face portions of the discs adjacent to the slots.

  • Patent number: 3977062
Abstract: A machine for assembling blower rotors comprises a fixture with a cylindrical interior surface in which there are shallow, axially spaced, radially inwardly opening circumferential grooves. The grooves receive marginal portions of flat sheet metal discs that have blade slots opening to their peripheries, thus holding the discs in spaced, coaxial relationship and allowing them to be indexingly rotated, ratchet-fashion, by pawls that engage circumferentially facing edges on the discs. Indexing rotation brings a slot in each disc into alignment with a blade guiding surface on the fixture, and a pusher moving along that surface forces individual blades edgewise along it and into the discs.
