  • Publication number: 20060192772
Abstract: A pen-like pointing device with data transfer capability is disclosed. The pen device functions as a pointing and writing device in a traditional manner. In addition, it has onboard memory and a wireless receiver, so that data and files can be transferred wirelessly from the computer to the pen device and, thereafter, transferred from the pen device to another device via a connector. The connector for transferring the data/files stored in the device memory may either be a wireless transmitter or a physical connector, such as a USB port. The pen-like pointing device may have a indicator, such as an LED, which alerts the user when data or files are stored in memory, and may also have a unique identifier and other security features. Using buttons on the pen device, a used can implement cut, copy and paste functions between a computer and another device, which may be a second computer.

  • Patent number: 6992721
Abstract: The present invention aims at providing a function-expansion unit for an electronic apparatus that may reduce the stress onto a connector, and provides a high stability with a CCD camera. The CCD camera includes a reinforcing member under its connecting portion and a height-adjustable stand, thereby reducing the stress that would otherwise apply to the USB connector as the connecting portion, enhancing the connection, preventing connector's deterioration in the course of time, and allowing the CCD camera to be stably placed.

  • Patent number: 6948966
Abstract: A notebook type personal computer has a common connector detachably connected to a mating connector of a connection unit, or replicator, which further has plural connectors affording detachable connections to plural peripheral units. One or more fastener units, carried by the connector unit, provide for detachably but rigidly affixing the connector unit to the notebook type personal computer. An alternative connector box accommodates one or more batteries while affording connections through the common connector and the plural first connectors to peripheral units and yet another alternative connector box houses only batteries and is connectable through a mating connector to the common connector of the personal computer to afford extended operating time.

  • Patent number: 6519139
Abstract: A keyboard includes a plurality of keys, a palm rest portion and speakers. The speakers are encompassed by elastic members and are held by the elastic members in a region below the palm rest portion. The elastic members are cylindrical members mounted to the lower cover of the case, and the speakers are inserted into the elastic members in an upwardly facing position and emit sound upwards towards the output portions of the upper cover of the case. The upper cover deflects, when a user's hand is placed thereon, to be pressed onto the speaker to improve the output of the speaker.

  • Patent number: 5995024
Abstract: A keyboard of a notebook type computer that is small in size yet has a smooth key-in operation. The keyboard includes a plurality of keys including English letter key, with each of the keys having keytops arranged in transverse lines and vertical rows in a matrix manner, with a small gap between every two adjacent keytops. An arrangement of the keytops of the English letter keys is such that a pitch in a transverse direction is larger than that in a vertical direction, and a size of an upper surface of the keytop of the English letter key is such that a length in the transverse direction is larger than a length in the vertical direction.
