  • Publication number: 20100034403
Abstract: An acoustic signal output control section 12a extracts, from an acoustic signal, a low-frequency-component acoustic signal and a high-frequency-component acoustic signal. A sound image localization processing filter section 13a performs a sound image localization process on the low-frequency-component acoustic signal. The low-frequency-component acoustic signal having been subjected to the sound image localization process is outputted from loudspeakers 11a and 11b in an AV rack loudspeaker apparatus 10. A television sound image localization processing filter section 14a performs a sound image localization process on the high-frequency-component acoustic signal. The high-frequency-component acoustic signal having been subjected to the sound image localization process is outputted from loudspeakers 21a and 21b in a television 20 via HDMI communication sections 15 and 22.

  • Publication number: 20090034745
Abstract: Provided is a sound image localization control apparatus for allowing, when sound is reproduced so as to perform sound image localization for a plurality of users, each of the plurality of users to variably adjust an acoustical effect individually without diminishing a sound image localization effect. The sound image localization control apparatus comprises: processing characteristic setting means (13; 14) for setting a processing characteristic in controlling means such that acoustic transfer functions for at least two predetermined positions each represent a desired characteristic; controlling means (12) for receiving an acoustic signal and the processing characteristic which is set by the processing characteristic setting means and performing signal processing; and sound reproducing means (3) for receiving an output from the controlling means.

  • Publication number: 20080025518
Abstract: An audio signal high frequency component controlled in terms of directivity is reproduced, or an audio signal high frequency component compensated in terms of frequency characteristic or controlled in terms of directivity is reproduced, such that the reflected sound comes from a direction in which the high frequency component is intended to be localized. The sound pressure in a seat where a desired localization effect is not provided due to the arrangement of speakers is compensated such that the interaural amplitude level in the seat is equal to that of another seat. Thus, an equivalent level of localization effect is provided in a plurality of seats, especially for an audio signal high frequency component, without significantly increasing the number of the speakers.

  • Publication number: 20040057584
Abstract: A noise reduction apparatus for reducing noise propagated toward a space 5 on one side of a wall 4 from an external noise source on the other side of the wall 4. The noise reduction apparatus includes a control sound source 1, an error detector 2, and a control section 3. The control sound source 1 is placed on the wall 4 so as to block a noise propagation path. Also, the control sound source radiates a sound into the space 5. The error detector 2 detects the sound propagated from the noise source through the control sound source 1. The control section 3 causes the control sound source 1 to radiate a sound so as to minimize the sound to be detected by the error detector 2 based on the detection results of the error detector 2.
