  • Publication number: 20240077726
Abstract: A display device is configured to determine a target location. The display device includes a waveguide element, a display panel and a processor. The waveguide element is configured to receive an image and reflect the image to an eyeball location. The display panel is located at one side of the waveguide element. The display panel has a plurality of pixel units. The display panel is located between the waveguide element and the target location. The processor is electrically connected to the display panel. The processor is configured to determine the pixel units in a blocking area of the display panel to be opaque. The blocking area of the display panel overlaps the target location. The display panel displays the pixel units in the blocking area as grayscale according to the processor.

  • Patent number: 11586058
Abstract: A continuously electronically controlled linear polarization rotator includes a first liquid crystal cell having a first upper substrate, a first lower substrate, and a transparent liquid crystal layer disposed between the first upper substrate and the first lower substrate; and a second liquid crystal cell having a second upper substrate, a second lower substrate, and a transparent liquid crystal layer disposed between the second upper substrate and second lower substrate. The first and second liquid crystal cells satisfy a condition that d?n/? is in a range of 1.2 to 1.8, wherein ? is a wavelength of incident light traveling through the first and second liquid crystal cells, d is thickness of the transparent liquid crystal layer, ?n is birefringence of the transparent liquid crystal layer. The first and second liquid crystal cells are applied by voltage to make a linear polarization angle of outgoing light continuously rotate.

  • Publication number: 20190079285
Abstract: A display structure with a dimming module and a biasing dimming module and a parallel plate dimming module thereof are revealed. The display structure includes a visual projection display module provided with an ambient-light-contact end and a dimming module disposed between the ambient-light-contact end and ambient light. Thus the ambient light transmitted through the visual projection display module and used as backlight is controlled effectively by the display structure for providing the best vision.

  • Publication number: 20160127629
Abstract: An image sensor mechanism for use in a digital image capture device. The mechanism generally includes a photo sensor array, a liquid crystal light valve array, and a control module. The liquid crystal light valve array is operatively disposed in front of the photo sensor array and includes a plurality of light valves, each of which is independently controllable and corresponds to at least one pixel sensor of the photo sensor array so as to selectively prevent light from reaching the photo sensor array. The control module is electrically coupled to the liquid crystal light valve array and the photo sensor array for applying a variable electric field across each of the light valves and for selectively adjusting the light valves with different transmittances based on a preliminary image previously captured by the photo sensor array in order to transform the preliminary image into a resultant image to be re-captured by the photo sensor array.
