Abstract: A method is provided for optimizing fan speed control of a computer system that includes a fan unit, a temperature sensor, a control unit to control operation of the fan unit, and a disk storage unit. A forbidden range corresponding to a range for a fan speed is determined based on a relationship between fan speed and vibration of the disk storage unit. An optimized fan control table is generated based on a reference table relating to a relationship between ambient temperature and fan speed. The optimized fan control table is generated by making a part of the ambient temperature values in the reference table change to corresponding to a predetermined fan speed not smaller than a fan speed value corresponding to an upper limit of the forbidden range.

Abstract: A method for reminding of entering a target route is disclosed. First, the method provides a Point of Interest (POI) at a conjunction of the present route and the target route and sets the POI as a basic voice reminding point. Next, the method determines whether the actual distance between the present position and the basic voice reminding point is less than or equal to the voice reminding distance. Then, when the actual distance between the present position and the basic voice reminding point is less than or equal to the voice reminding distance, a voice reminding message is sent out as the reminding of entering the target route correctly.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for updating GPS ephemeris data, which is applicable to a navigation device containing a GPS ephemeris data. The method for updating GPS ephemeris data includes the following steps: first, the navigation device counting down a predetermined time; next, searching a GPS ephemeris data server through a network interface; then performing a download from the GPS ephemeris data server so as to update the GPS ephemeris data in the navigation device. Accordingly, the time required for updating ephemeris data is shortened.
