  • Patent number: 9756598
Abstract: Some demonstrative embodiments include apparatuses, devices, systems and methods of one-sided Round-Trip-Time (RTT) measurement. For example, an apparatus may include circuitry and logic configured to cause a mobile device to receive bias information of an Access-Point (AP); perform a one-sided round-trip-time (RTT) measurement with the AP; and estimate a range between the mobile device and the AP based on the one-sided RTT measurement and the bias information.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 24, 2015
Date of Patent: September 5, 2017
    Assignee: INTEL IP CORPORATION
Inventors: Gaby Prechner, Itai Steiner, Kobi Kopelman, Leor Banin
  • Patent number: 9485627
Abstract: Some demonstrative embodiments include apparatuses, systems and/or methods of estimating a location of a mobile device. For example, an apparatus may include a radio to receive location information including locations of a plurality of detected access points; and a location estimator to select from the plurality of detected access points a plurality of selected access points, based on the location information, and to estimate a location of the mobile device based on communications from the plurality of selected access points.

  • Publication number: 20150264530
Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for Access Point (AP) initiated time-of-flight positioning in a Wireless Network are generally described herein. A precise scalable network initiated Time-of-Flight (ToF) solution for indoor positioning and navigation is provided for environments where global-navigation-satellite-systems signals are not available. ToF between an initiating AP and a responding device is measured and converted into distance by dividing the measured time by two and multiplying it by the speed of light. The AP, rather than the client, fully controls the timing and management of the overall indoor location procedure. The Fine Timing Measurement portion of the Access Point Initiated ToF Positioning protocol is a symmetric protocol such that measurement of the ToF is readily switchable between the client and the AP.
