  • Patent number: 11937701
Abstract: A bed system includes microclimate control capabilities for providing quality sleep experience. The bed system can include a microclimate control subsystem configured to supply conditioned air (e.g., heated or cooled air) to a mattress, or draw ambient air from the mattress, to achieve a desired temperature at the top of the mattress. Utilizing supply of conditioned air to provide air at desired temperature to the mattress system, or utilizing air suction to drain heat away from the mattress system, can provide precise microclimate control at the mattress, thereby permitting conformable sleep.

  • Publication number: 20240016301
Abstract: A bed has a mattress comprising one or more air-chambers. A pressure adjuster is configured to adjust pressure in the mattress. One or more pressure sensors are configured to sense a pressure of the mattress and transmit, to a controller, pressure readings. A controller comprising is configured to receive, from each of the pressure sensors, pressure readings; determine a pressure value for the mattress; determine if the pressure value for the mattress is above a maximum-target-pressure, wherein the maximum-target-pressure corresponds to a maximum-possible sleeper-value, the maximum-possible sleeper-value being a greatest value for a sleeper-value defining a firmness for the mattress, the bed having a maximum operational value describing a greatest pressure value at which the system functions normally; and responsive to determining that the pressure value for the mattress value is above the maximum-possible sleeper-value, send instructions to the pressure adjuster to adjust the pressure of the mattress.

  • Publication number: 20230276948
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for temperature control of a bed. A system can include a bed having first and second sides, the bed having a mattress, a first thermal module on the first side, and a second thermal module on the second side. A computer system can receive data about the bed, such as temperature, pressure, heat routine activation, and cool routine activation data for at least one of the first and second side, determine that a heat routine is activated on the first side based on the data, detect that the second side is unoccupied by a user, generate, based on (i) the heat routine being activated and (ii) the second side being unoccupied, instructions that cause the second thermal module to activate a heat crosstalk mitigation routine, and transmit the instructions to the second thermal module for activation of the heat crosstalk mitigation routine on the second side.
