Patent number: 10731649Abstract: A compressor or vacuum pump including: —a casing having a cooling gas inlet and a cooling gas outlet for allowing a cooling gas to flow therethrough; —a fan mounted at the cooling gas inlet, including a fan housing and configured to blow said cooling gas into said casing; —a compression or vacuum chamber including a first housing, a process gas inlet and outlet for allowing a process gas to flow therethrough and at least one rotating element; —a driving module including a second housing and at least one bearing for supporting said at least one rotating element; —a silencer including a cover and configured to attenuate noise generated by the compressor or vacuum pump. The silencer includes a recess structure on its cover, configured to deflect the cooling gas flow from the fan towards the driving module.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2016Date of Patent: August 4, 2020Assignee: ATLAS COPCO AIRPOWER, NAAMLOZE VENNOOTSCHAPInventors: Alberto Di Sante, William Maria Jacobs, Koen Stoop, Luc Van Mieghem, Tom Andre J. Patent number: 10385854Abstract: A helical compressor consisting of a casing with at least one fixed spiral; a rotor that has been placed in the casing and has at least one spiral that can be rotated within the casing; a crankshaft that has a main spindle that is mounted on bearings within the casing and an auxiliary spindle that is eccentrically positioned with respect to the geometric axis of the main spindle. The rotor is attached to the auxiliary spindle using a bearing and there is a mechanism present to prevent the rotor from rotating by itself. The rotor has an oil chamber that is connected to the bearing of the auxiliary spindle and a de-gassing channel for the oil chamber that goes through the auxiliary spindle and through part of the main spindle.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2015Date of Patent: August 20, 2019Assignee: ATLAS COPCO AIRPOWER, NAAMLOZE VENNOOTSCHAPInventor: Koen Stoop

Patent number: 10066623Abstract: Scroll compressor with a stationary, stator scroll and a movable rotor scroll and a drive to move the rotor, whereby in each position places are formed with an instantaneous minimum opening between the rotor scroll and the stator scroll whereby at each height in a minimum opening there is a local transverse internal clearance (S), whereby at least one of the stator flanks or rotor flanks comprises an adapted flank section with an initial local stator flank deviation (?T0i, AT0u) or rotor flank deviation (?R0i/AR0u) that is different to zero at each point when the rotor is stationary, and during nominal operation of the scroll compressor corresponding instantaneous final local stator flank deviations (?Tfi, ?Tfu) or rotor flank deviations (?Rfi, ?RfU) whose absolute values are smaller.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2014Date of Patent: September 4, 2018Assignee: ATLAS CAPCO AIRPOWER, NAAMLOZE VENNOTSCHAPInventors: Koen Stoop, Benjamin Moens

Patent number: 9874212Abstract: Housing for channelling the airflow of a radial fan of an air-cooled scroll compressor, where this housing is formed by a volute with an outlet and an outlet bend connecting thereto with an included angle. The included angle is an acute angle that extends from one side of the median plane defined by the axis of the inlet and the center of the output of the outlet bend to the other side of the median plane located on the side of the end point of the transverse wall and up to a distance from this median plane.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2014Date of Patent: January 23, 2018Assignee: ATLAS COPCO AIRPOWER, NAAMLOZE VENNOOTSCHAPInventors: Jochen Emiel C. Theelen, Gert August Van Leuven, Luc Van Mieghem, Wim Jan L. Mathys, Tom Andre J. Potters, Koen Stoop
