  • Patent number: 8159989
Abstract: The optimum relay route is selected out of a plurality of relay routes to a server. In order to solve a multirouting problem, introduced is a multi routing system for determining a relay route on the basis of a label corresponding to a terminal of an access source and a server type of an access destination instead of using an IP address as a key to select the relay route. A VPN using L2TP is also introduced. A CE router A (101) maps MAC addresses of terminals (103, 104) that it accommodates on the L2TP-VPN session. The session ID of the L2TP is used as the session ID of VPN, which is used as the key to select a relay route.

  • Patent number: 7724688
Abstract: A user's home is connected to a plurality of service providers by a plurality of VPNs, and traffic sent and received by a home terminal is filtered to an appropriate VPN so as to avoid communication disturbance due to IP address duplication by reducing unnecessary traffic. A terminal sends terminal information to inquire a management server about a SIP URI of VPN based on the terminal information sent by the terminal as well as user information. The management server notifies a router about the SIP URI of VPN corresponding to the notified information. The router establishes the VPN based on the notified SIP URI. The router maintains a mapping between the established VPN and a source terminal of a UPnP message, and then transfers traffic sent and received by each terminal after VPN establishment.

  • Patent number: 7328009
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for mobile communication utilizing load balancing. When a home agent (HA) consists of one or more servers with each server being assigned a Mobile IPv6 Home-Agents Anycast Address, a nearby router does not store the link-layer addresses with respect to the Anycast addresses of the servers in its neighbor cache. Consequently, load balancing between or among the servers could not be performed. To solve this problem, in one example, an HA is provided that comprises a representative HA and distributed HAs. The representative HA is assigned an Anycast Address. The representative HA includes a collecting device configured to collect HA lists and load information from the distributed HAs. The representative HA dynamically creates a HA list and sends the HA list to a mobile node (MN). The MN registers its current location with an HA from the HA list included in a Home Agent Address Discovery Reply message. The load on the HA can then be shared by the servers constituting the HA.

  • Patent number: 7286520
Abstract: A mobile terminal having a packet communication function according to a mobile IP and a communication route optimizing function includes a session controller for setting a session between terminals in accordance with a session control message of a protocol different from the mobile IP. When a session control message from the other party is received in a visited mobile IP network, the session controller executes optimization of a communication route to the other party by the communication route optimizing function before transmitting a response for the received message.
