  • Publication number: 20240009624
Abstract: Sterilization is achieved while the filtration performance of membranes is maintained. In a hollow fiber membrane module 1, a hollow fiber membrane bundle 3 is accommodated in a module case 5. In the hollow fiber membrane module 1, both ends of the hollow fiber membrane bundle 3 are integrated with the module case 5 by a potting material. A storage liquid is contained in 90% or more of the pores of the hollow fiber membrane bundle 3. Space inside the module case 5 is filled with a gas free of viable bacteria and the storage liquid.

  • Publication number: 20220143557
Abstract: A method of a filtration uses a hollow fiber membrane module comprising a module case; and a hollow fiber membrane bundle comprising a plurality of hollow fiber membranes bundled together and being accommodated in the module case, respective ends of the hollow fiber membranes being bonded together by a potting material. The filtration is carried out in the hollow fiber membrane module under a pressure of 0.3 to 1.2 MPa. The hollow fiber membrane module satisfies a relationship: 0.5<R/L<5 when the pressure inside the hollow fiber membrane module is 1.0 MPa without the hollow fiber membrane module being restrained, and satisfies relationships: 0<R<0.25 and 0<L<0.06 during an operation in an operation condition, where R (%) represents a radial expansion ratio at a center portion in a longitudinal direction, and L (%) represents a longitudinal expansion ratio, of the hollow fiber membrane module.

  • Patent number: 10159938
Abstract: A module includes a bonded portion in which the hollow-fiber-membranes are bonded and fixed together by potting material at least in an end portion of each of the hollow-fiber-membranes. Each of the hollow-fiber-membranes has a resin impregnation portion in which resin is impregnated into an outer surface side of each of the hollow-fiber-membranes at least in the end portion where each of the hollow-fiber-membranes is bonded and fixed together. In the end portion of the hollow-fiber-membranes, a leading edge of the resin impregnation portion toward the other end of each of the hollow-fiber-membranes is located closer to the other end than a leading edge of the bonded portion toward the other end. The thickness of the resin impregnation portion in the direction of the wall thickness of the hollow-fiber-membranes is 10 to 70% with respect to the thickness of the hollow-fiber-membranes.
