Abstract: An electrical terminal comprises a receptacle contact section having cantilever contact members extending from a bottom wall at forward and rear ends of the contact section, the contact members extend toward an upper wall and free ends of the contact members overlap and are spaced from each other so that, upon initial insertion of a matable contact into the contact section, a low insertion force is encountered and the insertion force increases gradually in proportion to the depth of insertion of the matable contact due to engagement between the overlapping free ends of the contact members so that a high contact pressure is obtained at the complete insertion of the matable contact in the receptacle contact section.

Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a dielectric housing having contact-receiving passages in which electrical contacts terminated to ends of electrical wires are disposed. Movable locking members are hingedly mounted on the housing and they permit the contacts while in a first position to be positioned in the passages and the locking members are movable to a latched second position maintaining the contacts in the passages. A cover member is mounted on the housing and is latched onto projections of the locking members only when the locking members are in the latched second position.

Abstract: An electrical connector (30) comprises a plug housing (20) and a receptacle housing (10) which are mated and secured together. The securing members, latching arm (23) of plug housing (20), and engaging portion (12) of receptacle housing (10) form a portion of an upper surface of each of the housings which allows the overall size of the electrical connector (30) to be reduced.
