  • Publication number: 20110115826
Abstract: An area active drive processing unit (15) obtains liquid crystal data (32) used for driving a liquid crystal panel (11) and LED data (33) used for driving backlight (13) from an input image (31). In order to obtain the LED data (33), the input image (31) is divided into areas, a maximum value Ma and a mean value Me of luminances of pixels in each area are obtained, and a weighted mean of the maximum value Ma and the mean value Me is obtained, thereby obtaining the luminance of an LED (23)-(25) corresponding to each area. A coefficient ? used for obtaining the weighted mean changes depending on the mean value Me. As the mean value Me increases, the LED luminance increases from the mean value Me at an accelerated rate and approaches the maximum value Ma. As a result, flicker and lowering of luminance in an image display device controlling backlight are prevented.

  • Publication number: 20110090265
Abstract: There is provided an image display device capable of suppressing the occurrence of a color shift while ensuring a sufficient color reproduction range. An in-area maximum luminance obtaining unit (151) divides an input image (31) into a plurality of areas and obtains, for each of RGB colors, a maximum luminance value (34) in each area. A weighting coefficient calculating unit (152) obtains the maximum luminance values (34) for the respective RGB colors for all of the areas, and determines weighting coefficients (35) which are required upon an LED luminance adjustment process, based on an mean value of the maximum luminances values (34) for each color. An LED luminance adjusting unit (153) adjusts the luminances of respective RGB color LEDs in each area to suppress the occurrence of a color shift, based on the maximum luminance values (34) obtained by the in-area maximum luminance obtaining unit (151) and the weighting coefficients (35) determined by the weighting coefficient calculating unit (152).

  • Publication number: 20100225574
Abstract: An objective of the present invention is to provide an image display device that performs area active drive and that can suppress the occurrence of flicker upon displaying a moving image. An APL calculating unit (16) obtains, based on an input image (31), an average luminance level of the image for one frame. A luminance range determining unit (151) determines an upper limit value and a lower limit value of luminances of LEDs, based on the average luminance level. An area active drive processing unit (15) obtains, based on the input image (31), liquid crystal data (32) used to drive a liquid crystal panel (11) and LED data (33) used to drive a backlight (13). When the LED data (33) is obtained, the input image (31) is divided into a plurality of areas and a luminance of LEDs corresponding to each area is obtained within a range between the upper limit value and the lower limit value which are determined by the luminance range determining unit (151).

  • Publication number: 20100079365
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to systems and methods for performing white balance operations for an LED display backlight. One method comprises obtaining display parameters and capturing sensor data for a display. Geometrical calibration between the captured sensor data and the display is performed. Color conversion matrices for the display backlight may also be calculated. The backlight is displayed at a selected white value and measurement of the actual color of the backlight is then performed. Next a target luminance is determined based on the measured backlight color and minimization of visible luminance variation. A target color is then determined and used to determine a color difference between the measured backlight color and the target color. From this a normalized RGB color difference and RGB color difference driving values are determined. New RGB driving values based on the RGB color difference values and original driving values are then determined.

  • Patent number: 7463237
Abstract: A programmable logic IC and a ROM are set in a controller section between a display and ICs (an IC for wireless communication and an IF IC). In each of plural program sets stored in the ROM, a series of operation up to the time that image data, after being read from the IC for wireless communication and converted into a logic signal, is sent to the display is described. On the other hand, the programmable logic IC changes the program set being read, according to what is displayed on the display, television images, a monitor image supplied from a computer, or image data from a memory card. This makes it possible to attain an image-display-device controller circuit that has a small circuit scale, consumes a small amount of power, and is small in size and weight are small, but can change operation.

  • Publication number: 20080103625
Abstract: A numerical controller with a machining resume function, in which time necessary to resume machining is reduced without increasing memory capacity. A program portion such as a subprogram to be skipped, which is not required to execute for restoring an internal status of the numerical controller at the time point of machining suspension is registered by number or the like. When the internal stare is restored, only if the read-out block is not the program portion to be skipped, execution is carried out without operating a machine, and the internal status including a coordinate position of the machine and the like is updated and stored. A pointer indicating a block position is also updated. If it is determined that the pointer becomes equal to a pointer value at the time point of machining suspension, and that the suspended block is reached, the internal status such as interpolation information which is stored at the machining suspension is restored, and the machining is resumed.

  • Publication number: 20070170157
Abstract: A laser processing method for cutting, by laser beam, a cutting path (A0) of a workpiece having a corner (B) between a first cutting path (A1) and a second cutting path (A2) is provided. The workpiece is cut under the first cutting conditions (X) from the first cutting path to the corner, and under the second cutting conditions smaller in cutting ability than the first cutting conditions for a predetermined section (A21) on the second cutting path from the corner. The workpiece is cut under the first cutting conditions on the second cutting path after finished the predetermined section. The cutting conditions are continuously changed at the time of switching from the first cutting conditions to the second cutting conditions and/or from the second cutting conditions to the first cutting conditions. In this way, a processing defect is prevented while suppressing the delay of the cutting time at the time of cutting along the cutting path including the corner.

  • Publication number: 20060061580
Abstract: A display device includes an ID storage section which is a read-only storage and stores a display ID being exclusive to the display device and readable by a computer. An ID judgment section judges whether or not the display device is entitled to reception of content data, based on the display ID read out from the display device. When the display device is authenticated, a communication section of a content data delivery device delivers the content data to the display device. As a result, individual authentication of the display device and selective delivery of the content data to the display device, by the content data delivery device, can be realized. Namely, it is possible to provide the display device, which ensures individual authentication, and to which content data can be selectively delivered.
