  • Publication number: 20110275270
Abstract: A display device includes a substrate; a matrix of scan lines and signal lines formed on the substrate; switching elements formed in pixel areas defined by the scan lines and the signal lines crossing each other; a first insulating film formed over the scan lines, the signal lines, and the switching elements; and display elements to be driven by the switching elements. The pixel areas are located in a display area and the first insulating film has openings above the scan lines or the signal lines in an outer area outside of the display area.

  • Patent number: 7898641
Abstract: A production process of a display device is performed such that, even if exposure displacement is caused by an error in stitching divided regions, a linear protrusion in the vicinity of a divisional boundary is prevented from becoming thin or disappearing because of double exposure. The display device having an insulating substrate on which a plurality of dots are arranged in a matrix includes a linear protrusion which is formed on the insulating substrate by performing divisional exposure on a plurality of divided regions on the insulating substrate, wherein the boundary between the adjacent divided regions provides, in the vicinity of the linear protrusion in one of the divided regions, at least a bent portion that extends into the other divided region at a predetermined distance.

  • Publication number: 20050062907
Abstract: According to the invention, after a transparent electrode is vapor-deposited over the entire color-filter side surface, a non-conductive film is laid where the presence of the transparent electrode causes problems. That is, this non-conductive film is formed of the same material and at the same time as an alignment regulation film over the whole or a part of the area where exposure of the transparent electrode causes problems so as to seal the transparent electrode there. This makes it possible to prevent the above-mentioned problems caused when the transparent electrode is vapor-deposited over the entire surface, and simultaneously to enhance the patterning accuracy up to the exposure accuracy (of the order of several ?m) of proximity or the like so as to realize a product with a narrow frame.
