  • Patent number: 6845214
Abstract: The present video apparatus is provided with a re-encoder having an audio/video processing section disposed between a decoder and an encoder so that the decoded audio/video signals can be re-encoded. Image resolution of the video information is altered by the audio/video processing section so as to control the bit-rate of the audio/video encoding process performed in the encoding section to suit the system performance. Such a configuration of the video apparatus enables to control the file size of the audio/video codes recorded in a recording medium of the recorder. It is also possible to use the audio/video processing section to insert characters, diagrams and image information in the video data, and to insert additional audio data in the original audio data.

  • Publication number: 20050008039
Abstract: Digital carrying streams are demodulated by a plurality of demodulating circuits and outputs of the demodulating circuits are input to a program filter. The program filter extracts only the data necessary for recording and reproducing from a plurality of input carrying streams and outputs the data to a memory buffer. The data supplied to a recording/reproducing circuit via the memory buffer is recorded in a recording medium in accordance with a designation of a user or directly transferred to a decoder. The data recorded in the recording medium is transferred to the decoder via the recording/reproducing circuit in accordance with a designation of the user.

  • Patent number: 6671454
Abstract: An apparatus for recording and playback of digital broadcasts determines programs that can be played and recorded simultaneously in accordance with a bit rate of each program to be recorded and played back and the performance capacity on which programs are recorded. Bit rate information for programs is provided in conjunction with information identifying the programs in an electronic program guide received by the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6263393
Abstract: A bus switch for realizing bus transaction across two or more buses comprises N (N: integer larger than 1) bus bridges, a switch module and a scheduler. When a transaction cell is generated by a bus bridge, the bus bridge adds a destination port number to the header of the transaction cell. The destination port number designates one of output ports of the switch module to which the transaction cell should be transferred. When the transaction cell is supplied to an input port of the switch module, an output port multiplexer of the switch module is controlled by the destination port number in the transaction cell, and the transaction cell is transferred to one of the output ports that corresponds to the destination port number, thereby the transaction cell is transferred to a destination bus bridge. By the addition of the destination port number, the scheduler does not have to directly control connection of a transfer path in the switch module.

  • Patent number: 5778186
Abstract: In a data delivery server apparatus to which a plurality of terminal equipments each having a unique identifier are connected, a storage section stores a plurality of data, each of which includes one or more data blocks. A quantizing section receives an access request as pre-quantization access request from each of the plurality of terminal equipment. The pre-quantization access request requests a data stored in the storage section. The quantizing section also quantizes the access request to produce one or more post-quantization access requests associated with one or more data block of the data. A reducing section produces a collective access request from the post-quantization access requests belonging to each of quantization regions of the quantizing section. An access section accesses the storage section in accordance with each of the collective access requests to read out the corresponding data block from the storage section.

  • Patent number: 5740327
Abstract: Acceleration/deceleration processing is performed in industrial robot controls when there is a transit point in an instructed trajectory where the robot tip cannot follow the trajectory with the instructed velocity because of the allowable limit of acceleration of the robot tip. In the invention, for specifying the velocity reduction ratio at the transit point quantitatively and continuously in consideration of tradeoff between the tracking error and the continuity of the traveling speed, a transit velocity or the velocity at the transit point after acceleration/deceleration processing is calculated from a linear combination of two instructed velocities before and after the transit point referring a transit velocity parameter as the velocity reduction ratio.
