  • Patent number: 8690720
Abstract: A hydraulic control device for an automatic transmission capable of adjusting the amount of lubricating oil in accordance with a load on a torque converter is provided. A main regulator valve regulates hydraulic oil from an oil pressure source on the basis of a stator reaction force of the torque converter to generate a line pressure for operating engagement of a frictional engagement element. A line pressure switching section switches the line pressure to a low line pressure in a region in which a higher line pressure is not required in response to a driving state of a vehicle, and switches the line pressure to a high line pressure when a target value of an engagement hydraulic oil pressure exceeds a predetermined pressure. A lubricating regulator valve is provided in a lubricating oil passage connected from the main regulator valve to regulate a hydraulic pressure in the lubricating oil passage to a given pressure in response to a driving state of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6736099
Abstract: A hydraulic engine-starting system for cranking and starting an engine for a vehicle having automatically stopping and starting functions by a hydraulic motor. A hydraulic pressure that operates a hydraulic clutch of a transmission is raised promptly by using a hydraulic motor. The hydraulic motor is driven by a hydraulic pressure supplied thereto through a first oil passage from a hydraulic motor-driving device including an oil pump, an accumulator and a solenoid valve, thereby starting the engine. A transmission is disposed in the middle of a second oil passage for returning an oil discharged from the hydraulic motor to the hydraulic motor-driving device. Thus, the hydraulic pressure in the transmission can be raised simultaneously with the start of the engine to enable the engagement of a hydraulic clutch, thereby starting the vehicle promptly, while avoiding generating a shock from the engagement of the hydraulic clutch.

  • Patent number: 6442934
Abstract: The present invention provides a hydraulic controller for a variable capacity hydraulic transmission. This hydraulic controller reduces the load of the engine to improve fuel efficiency while maintaining a hydraulic pressure which is necessary for the control of the skew angles of the swash plates of the variable capacity type hydraulic pump and hydraulic motor that are incorporated in the transmission. The hydraulic controller adjusts the hydraulic pressure supplied to the servo cylinders 92 and 96 which are to tilt the pump swash plate 32 and the motor swash plate 38, to a minimum necessary pressure on the basis of the pressure Ph of the oil passage which is at the higher pressure in the hydraulic closed circuit 26.

  • Patent number: 6039666
Abstract: A power of an input shaft driven by an engine is divided by a power dividing device and transmitted to first and second output shafts and a hydraulic pump of a hydrostatic continuously variable transmission is driven by the first output shaft, whereas a hydraulic motor is driven by the second output shaft through a mechanical transmission device and also by the hydraulic pump. A main oil pump is provided at the input shaft which rotates at the same speed as an engine speed, and a subsidiary oil pump is provided at the first output shaft which decreases rotational speed thereof to zero with an increase in the engine rotational speed. In a low rotational speed region of the engine, oil is supplied by both the main oil pump and the subsidiary oil pump, whereas in a high rotational speed region of the engine, oil is supplied by only the main oil pump.
