    Abstract: In a multiple computer system, a computer sends a program annexed with a code representative of the characteristic (e.g., the content and length of the program, the cooperation with other programs, the content of input and output data) of the program to the transmission line. Another computer checks the program based on the code representative of the program characteristic, and receives the program if necessary or executable based on the check result. Each computer can set, as occasion arises or if necessary, codes representative of the characteristics of several programs executable by the computer, so that specific receiving stations are not needed to be identified beforehand. The received program is checked based on the characteristic code annexed thereto, and if proper, the program is stored or executed if necessary.

Previously determined allocation policies are stored in memory along with system status data, control data and an evalution of the effectiveness of the allocation policy. During the operation of the system, the status is detected and an allocation policy is retrieved from memory based on the detected status. The allocation policy is then modified and sent to the scheduler. The effect of modifying the allocation policy is detected and an evaluation of the modified allocation policy is stored in memory. Inferior allocation policies are deleted from memory.

    Abstract: The structure of a circuit which is given basic net data is stored as a pattern, the compliance of the basic net data with the pattern is checked by the separately prepared search function, and upon fulfillment of compliance the pattern is determined to exist within the circuit. The subcircuit to be recognized by elements is not directly defined, but is defined using an intermediate expression defined recursively so as to implement a search through pattern matching. In another form, one input terminal is specified, which is followed by a search for blocks having the terminal as an input node and the search for blocks having one of the output node strings as an input node recursively and cyclically until the output terminal is reached, so as to extract a string of nodes on which the signal is propagated. The system is provided with functions for recognizing and comprehending subsidiary structures of the circuit which are not defined by the entered net data.

    Abstract: A multi-facility control system includes a controller and attendant memory. Stored in the memory are a plurality of rules, each of which includes a conditional portion representative of a condition to be examined and a conclusive portion describing action to be taken when the condition is satisfied. Also stored in memory is the current status of each facility, information representative of the tasks to be performed by the facilities and updated status information resulting from the satisfaction of the conditional parts of the rules. The controller monitors the status of the facilities and compares monitored status information with the conditional parts of the rules stored in memory. When rule conditions are satisfied, control instructions are generated which are employed to produce command signals that are coupled to the respective facilities for controlling the operations thereof.
