  • Publication number: 20100040686
Abstract: The present invention provides a biomaterial which releases slowly a biologically active substance acting only on bone cell regeneration, in order to compensate for bone or alveolar bone lost due to surgery, accident or the like. Specifically, the invention relates to a biomaterial containing an osteogenic factor adsorbed on a porous material selected from hydroxyapatite, calcium phosphate, ?-TCP (tricalcium phosphate [?-Ca3(PO4)2]), coral, calcium carbonate, titanium oxide, alumina, zirconia, silicon nitride, and ceramics. This osteogenic factor is preferably polyphosphoric acid or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, or else bone morphogenetic protein (BMP).

  • Patent number: 6210458
Abstract: The gas filter module of the invention has: a housing which has a gas inlet port at one end and a gas outlet port at another end, and which is divided into two portions in a longitudinal direction; a filter body consisting of a porous ceramics member which is loaded into the housing and through which an inflow gas passes; and a ring-like support member consisting of dense ceramics which is fittingly coupled to a step portion formed inside the housing and which is joined to the filter body. The ring-like support member is fixed via two metal O-rings to a fixing gap of the step portion of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5834108
Abstract: A ceramic porous body has a layered structure including a plurality of foam-like ceramic layers. The foam-like ceramic layers are formed by firing foam-like ceramic shaped layers each having a thickness of not more than 5 mm. The adjacent shaped layers are joined directly, or bonded via a thin foam-like ceramic layer or dense ceramic layer.

  • Patent number: 5762841
Abstract: A ceramic porous body is constituted of ceramic particles which have a substantially continuous, monotonic size distribution in the thickness direction of the porous body.

  • Patent number: 5405529
Abstract: A cylindrical support member consists of a bone-like porous ceramic member and a ceramic porous network member having a three-dimensional network structure provided outside the bone-like member so as to constitute an integral part. A ceramic membrane having a smaller pore size and serving as a filter membrane is formed on the exposed surface of the bone-like member and the surfaces of the struts of the network member by a ceramic-slurry foaming technique.
