  • Publication number: 20030197904
Abstract: To control a light emitted from a fluorescent lamp having phosphors with different afterglow properties for different colors, a center of a lighting control signal for controlling the lighting of the fluorescent lamp is controlled to constantly align with the center of a Hsync period so that despite the variation of the lighting time of the fluorescent lamp, a barycenter of the quantity of light from the fluorescent lamp in the Hsync period almost aligns with the center of the Hsync period to reduce the offset of the barycenter.

  • Publication number: 20030035151
Abstract: Predetermined additional information is superposed as a dot pattern on image information read by an image scanner, and the image information superposed with the additional information is modulated. • Patent number: 6346989
Abstract: A device for controlling the copying of an original includes a discriminator for discriminating a specific original in accordance with the degree of significance of the specific original, when discriminating a plurality of specific originals in forming one image. According to another embodiment, the device includes an inhibitor for inhibiting the copying of a specific original, when a memory or peripheral circuit having the discrimination criteria of the specific original is removed or exchanged, or it is out of order, and making a discrimination of the specific original by the same characteristic data of the specific original, even if the image is input from different input equipment, wherein the correct discrimination is effected based on the color tint distribution of the specific original.

  • Patent number: 6055313
Abstract: A plurality of apparatuses can execute an encrypting process on an image signal are connected. The encrypting processes which are executed in those apparatuses are independently performed, so that the connection of an improper apparatus is made impossible and, in this state, a more advanced signal process can be performed, thereby giving no disadvantage to the user. For this purpose, there is disclosed an image processing apparatus comprising a first encrypting circuit for encrypting the image data and supplying to a first apparatus and a second encrypting circuit for encrypting image data and supplying to a second apparatus different from the first apparatus, wherein the first and second encrypting means execute independently the encryption.

  • Patent number: 5933520
Abstract: The color tone distributions of a plurality of types of specific originals are stored in advance in a ROM, and a first similarity between the color tone distributions corresponding to a predetermined discrimination criterion, and an input image signal is discriminated. A second similarity between the color tone distributions corresponding to a discrimination criterion which is changed based on the first similarity, and the input image signal is discriminated. Whether or not an original is similar to one of the plurality of types of specific originals is discriminated on the basis of the first and second similarities.

  • Patent number: 5877867
Abstract: An image forming system has a plurality of image forming devices connected via a network. The system includes an image processor which processes an input image signal to produce a processed image signal. Respective additional information is superimposed on the processed image signal in a form that is not conspicuous to the human eye in preparation for transfer of the processed image signal to each of the plurality of image forming devices, with the respective additional information being different for each of the plurality of image forming devices. The processed image signal with the respective additional information superimposed thereon is transferred via the network to the respective ones of the image forming devices via the network.

  • Patent number: 5832112
Abstract: A color image processing apparatus that prevents counterfeiting by detecting specific originals with high precision. Although general banknotes have graphic patterns drawn on uniform density portions, the tonality percepted by human eye is the mixture of the tonality of a graphic portion and the tonality of a uniform density portion. In consideration of the mixed tonality sensed by human eye, the apparatus smoothes a read image signal to generate mixed tonality for judgment, thus improves judgment precision. The total judgment of existence/absence of specific original is made by performing m judgments on m (m>n) judging conditions using the tonality data of pre-registered n (n: positive integer) specific originals.
