  • Patent number: 5665506
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparing a particulate toner for developing an electrostatic image, which comprises suspending a polymerizable monomer composition comprising a polymerizable monomer, a resin dissolved therein, and a coloring agent in an aqueous medium not containing a dispersant to prepare a pre-suspension, jetting the pre-suspension through a nozzle under elevated pressure in a flowing direction which is forced to vary so that the pre-suspension collides with a predetermined plane or with each other, and then immediately passing the pre-suspension through an apparatus for throttling the path to produce back pressure and shearing stress to prepare a suspension containing a particulate polymerizable monomer and subjecting the resulting suspension to polymerization.

  • Patent number: 4504651
Abstract: A sulfur-containing polymer having a repeating unit represented by the formula: ##STR1## where R is a straight or branched alkylene group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R' is a straight or branched alkylene group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms and p is an integer of from 0 to 10, and having an average molecular weight of from 500 to 10,000 and a sulfur content of from 15 to 65% by weight. The sulfur-containing polymer of the present invention is useful as a flame or smoke retarding agent in resin and rubber materials.

  • Patent number: 4376854
Abstract: A process for preparing a resorcinol copolymer, comprising at least one specific phenol with formaldehyde at a certain mole ratio to obtain a resol-type precondensate containing 1 to 30% of residual unreacted formaldehyde and then adding said resol-type precondensate to a mixture of an acid catalyst and at least one resorcinol to effect co-condensation. The obtained copolymer is useful for an adhesive for polyester fiber and rubber.

  • Patent number: 4046004
Abstract: A Diesel engine diagnosing device, particularly, a device for diagnosing the timing of a fuel injection is disclosed. The device according to the present invention comprises a transducer to convert the injection pressures into an electrical signal, a first pulse generator to produce a first pulses of a predetermined pulse width, the first pulses being produced at the moment of a building up of the primary injection pressures, and a second pulse generator to produce second pulses which are generated when triggered by the leading edges of said first pulses and which can be set for a desired mark-space ratio. And, a first marking provided on the stationary part of the engine and second marking provided on the rotary part of the engine are lighted by an electronic flash emitter which flashes as triggered with the trailing edge of said second pulses. The device further has an injection timing indicator which displays the integral value of the output signal produced from said second pulse generator.
