  • Publication number: 20110182371
Abstract: Provided are a radio communication system, a receiver, and a transmitter, which are capable of reducing an operation time period of a reception circuit of the receiver and achieving reduction in power consumption even if there is a clock error between the transmitter and the receiver. In a case of a conventional method illustrated in FIG. 1(A), the receiver is operated earlier by a time period (Tm), to thereby achieve synchronization before the clock error of the receiver exceeds the time period (Tm). This requires an extended reception time period for achieving clock synchronization, which therefore prevents the receiver from reducing its power consumption. In view of this, according to the present invention, as illustrated in FIG. 1(B), a synchronization signal is continuously transmitted from the transmitter a plurality of times in a short period of time, and the receiver receives only one of the continuously-transmitted synchronization signals.

  • Patent number: 7928830
Abstract: A biometric information detecting apparatus has a biometric sensor for measuring biometric information for a predetermined time period. An A/D conversion portion acquires a sampling data by subjecting an output of the biometric sensor to A/D conversion. A storing portion stores the sampling data. A frequency analyzing portion subjects the sampling data stored in the storing portion to a frequency analysis and stores a result of the frequency analysis to in storing portion. A biometric state value calculating portion calculates a biometric state value from the result of the frequency analysis stored in the storing portion. An SN ratio calculating portion calculates an SN ratio from the result of the frequency analysis stored in the storing portion. A determining portion determines a reliability of the biometric state value based on whether the calculated SN ratio exceeds a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20100119105
Abstract: Provided is a technology of embedding watermark data into an arbitrarily-shaped region by applying a wavelet transform. Prepared are: image data into which the watermark data is to be embedded; a shape map that defines the arbitrarily-shaped region into which the watermark data is to be embedded within the image data; and the watermark data. An SA-DWT processing unit uses the shape map to recognize a given region included in the arbitrarily-shaped region within the image data, and subjects image data in the given region to the wavelet transform. The wavelet transform causes the image data in the arbitrarily-shaped region to be divided into frequency bands, and a watermark data embedding unit embeds the watermark data into a frequency space of the image data generated by the dividing. An SA-IDWT processing unit subjects the resultant to an inverse wavelet transform, and watermark-embedded image data is generated.

  • Patent number: 7060963
Abstract: An organism information measuring device has two light irradiating parts that irradiate light of short and long wavelength, respectively, toward an organism, and two light receiving parts that receive backward scattered light from the organism and produce organism information signals according to the quantity of received light. A data processor determines organism information indicative of a condition of the organism based on the organism information signals. The two light irradiating parts may be combined into a single light irradiating part, with one of the light receiving parts disposed farther from the light irradiating part than the other and having a light receiving area larger in size than that of the other and proportional to the distance thereof from the light irradiating part.

  • Publication number: 20050159653
Abstract: A living body information measuring system is capable of accurately determining the originator of living body information data transmitted from living body information detecting devices used by multiple users. Each of the living body information detecting devices is identified by a portable device worn on the user and having a first identification code associated with the user in advance. Then, information on the kind of the living body information detecting device is added to the first identification code to generate a second identification code, and the second identification code is transmitted to the living body information detecting device. The living body information detecting device uses the second identification code as its own identification code and transmits it to a data collector together with the detected living body information data.
