  • Patent number: 5232409
Abstract: A power transmission belt having a tension section and a compression section, with at least a portion of one of the tension and compression sections being formed from rubber of a first color. A rubber coated canvas covers at least a part of at least one of the tension and compression sections including the portion of the one of the tension and compression sections having the first color. The rubber in the rubber coated canvas has a second color that is different than the first color. A rubber layer having a third color is interposed between the portion of the one of the tension and compression sections and the rubber coated canvas. The third color is substantially the same as the second color.

  • Patent number: 4851547
Abstract: A method for the production of a maleimide by dehydration and ring-closure of maleinamic acid obtained by the reaction of maleic anhydride with an amine, which method is characterized by effecting ring-closure imidation of said maleinamic acid by heating said maleinamic acid in a water-insoluble or water-immiscible inert organic non-polar solvent in the presence of a catalyst of an amine salt produced from the amine and an acid, a mixture of the amine salt and the acid, or a supported catalyst on a solid carrier the catalyst or the acid.

  • Patent number: 4746176
Abstract: The towel dispenser adapted to store and supply a towel of undeterminate length. At least one of the unused and used portions of the towel is stored in the form of a roll on a shaft. The towel dispenser includes a pair of side walls each having at least one elongated hole. The portion of the side wall defining the inner peripheral edge of the elongated hole is obliquely bent towards each respective other side wall so as to form a tab projecting towards the other side wall. Each end of the shaft is rotatably and slidably received in the respective elongated hole defined by the respective tab, in such a manner that each end of the shaft does not project beyond the plane of the associated side wall.

  • Patent number: 4614144
Abstract: A plastic card mounting an IC memory of a credit card size called a music card stores encoded digital music information including tone, musical interval, musical length and loudness of each musical note and pause, and said music information actuates a synthesizer which generates music sound signal. The music card also stores a character code for indicating title of music on said synthesizer. As music note is encoded and stored in a digital form, a small capacity of IC memory is enough for storing a long play music.

  • Patent number: 4535356
Abstract: A music information transmission system in which a music symbol on a music sheet is quantized into a digital signal by inputting that music symbol by using a key board. The digital signal is assembled into a packet, which is multiplexed on a blanking period of a television signal, and is transmitted over the air. At a reception side, the packet is separated from a picture signal, and is stored in a memory. A music player reads out the memory, and decodes the digital signal in the memory. The decoded signal operates the music player to play music. Thus, music information may be transmitted in a very narrow frequency band as compared with a conventional PCM system which quantizes an analog sound signal into a digital signal. The present invention is useful for instance for playing background music in a teletext or a character transmission system multiplexed with a television signal.

  • Patent number: 4497759
Abstract: This invention discloses a continuous process for the production of polymer-polyoxymethylene (POM) having small linear expansion coefficients and high tensile modulus, the process for producing an ultrahigh modulus POM comprising the step of drawing a crystalline polymer continuously under dielectric heating while maintaining the ambient temperature at an elevated temperature by external heating, said ambient temperature being controlled to change from a lower temperature to a higher temperature along the drawing direction of said crystalline polymer with a pre-set temperature gradient.
