  • Patent number: 6636531
Abstract: A communication device for transmitting a sequence of data, which is transmitted thereto at a given transmission rate, at a desired transmission rate greater than the former transmission rate over a transmission line. The device comprises a mapping unit, in order to map the sequence of data into a plurality of frames in a predetermined form, each of which consists of a plurality of blocks, for assigning a predetermined amount of data to a data transmission area in each of the plurality of blocks included in each frame so that the sequence of data is nearly-uniformly arranged over the plurality of blocks included in each frame.

  • Publication number: 20020104089
Abstract: In cases where a selection item I1 is selected from a plurality of selection items on a browser screen, the selection items are arranged according to position information of the selection items described in a BML document and are displayed on the browser screen by a function of a selection item displaying unit, the judgment whether or not a cursor is placed on a display area of one selection item on the browser screen is performed in a selection item determining unit, it is detected that the cursor is placed on the display area of a selection item I1, and the selection item I1 is set to a selected state. Also, in cases where a change of the selection item I1 set to the selected state to a selection item I2 is performed, the cursor is placed on the display area of the selection item I2, and the transfer of the selected state from the selection item I1 to the selection item I2 is performed according to a state transition diagram defined by the BML document.

  • Patent number: 5466355
Abstract: A mosaic target comprising a plurality of target block pieces of different kinds of materials selected from the group consisting of Ta, Mo, Ti, W, Zr, Nb and Si, and their alloys and compounds, said target block pieces being combined in a stripe pattern or in a radial pattern characterized in that said target block pieces have their abutting interfaces solid-phase bonded at a temperature no more than the melting points of the target block piece materials. A typical example is a Ta-Mo mosaic target. The solid-phase bonded mosaic target blank is machined to a target which is bonded to a backing plate. The solid-phase bonding produces a mosaic target of a unitary construction, eliminating gaps among the target block pieces without sacrificing the properties of the individual block pieces. Abnormal discharge owing to gaps or contamination of the resulting film by concurrent sputtering of the solder or the backing plate is avoided.

  • Patent number: 5417816
Abstract: An indium oxide-tin oxide powder for ITO display devices etc. with only slight variance in properties such as average particle diameter and apparent density is prepared stably with good controllability and at low cost: (1) by electrolyzing indium as an anode, calcining or roasting the indium hydroxide obtained and combining the resulting indium oxide powder with a tin oxide powder; (2) by electrolyzing tin as an anode, calcining or roasting the metastannic acid obtained and combining the resulting tin oxide powder with an indium oxide powder; (3) by simultaneously electrolyzing indium and tin as separate anodes and then calcining or roasting the resulting mixed precipitate of indium hydroxide and metastannic acid to produce an indium oxide-tin oxide powder; or (4) by electrolyzing an alloy of indium and tin as an anode and then calcining or roasting the resulting precipitate of indium hydroxide and metastannic acid to produce an indium oxide-tin oxide powder.

  • Patent number: 5223404
Abstract: A composition for testing periodontal diseases which diagnoses or prognosticates contraction or progress of the diseases or diagnoses the therapeutic value by promptly determining peptidase-like enzymatic activity in a specimen. The composition is a combination of a compound of the formula [1] or [2] or a mixture thereof, a chromogen and an oxidase:X-T-Pro-Y [1]orX'-Z'-Arg-Y' [2]wherein Pro is proline residue; Arg is arginine residue; X and X' are hydrogen or an amino protecting group, respectively; Y and Y' are a residue of a compound which can increase oxidation reaction rate of a chromogen with a oxidase in the presence of oxygen and is attached to the C-terminal of Pro or Arg, respectively; and T and Z' are an amino acid or peptide residue composed of 0 to 4 amino acids or their protected derivatives the C-terminal of which is attached to the N-terminal of Pro or Arg, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4214311
Abstract: A method for continuously measuring and monitoring insulation resistance values of a non-grounded DC circuit in an operative condition and an apparatus for practicing the method are disclosed. This method is to calculate various values including the values of the insulation resistances across three lines forming the non-grounded DC circuit by continuously measuring only two voltages across the three lines forming that circuit. The apparatus includes voltage detecting means, switching means, memory means, and calculating means. A load resistance is connected to each of the positive power line and the negative power line, and the switching means operates to selectively ground these load resistances. The voltage detecting means further includes a buffer circuit. The memory means temporarily stores the detected voltage value. The calculating means is connected to the memory means for calculating various values including the insulation resistance values utilizing the voltage values.
