  • Patent number: 6643496
Abstract: Data can be transmitted efficiently by sending control information as demanded by the status of a network. To accomplish this, a transmitting terminal transmits data using the Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP), and control information, which is for ascertaining the status of the network, is transmitted by both the transmitting terminal and a receiving terminal using the Real-Time Transport Control Protocol (RTCP). The transmitting terminal transmits the control information as an RTCP packet at predetermined time intervals. If the transmission rate does not attain a target rate, however, the transmitting terminal raises the transmission rate by a predetermined percentage regardless of the predetermined time intervals. If it is judged that transmission loss has occurred based upon the control information sent from the receiving terminal, the transmitting terminal lowers the transmission rate by a predetermined percentage regardless of the predetermined time intervals.

  • Patent number: 6529234
Abstract: In a system in which a plurality of cameras and microphones, the image pickup directions and audio input directions of which can be remote-controlled, are arranged on a network, when an image pickup inhibited region is set, and when a network client remote-controls a certain camera to pickup a range including the image pickup inhibited region, a portion corresponding to the image pickup inhibited region is not displayed, and sound corresponding to the region is not output.

  • Patent number: 6088737
Abstract: Information processing system and control method thereof is provided. A camera server apparatus determines, upon receiving a connection request from a client, whether or not an additional client to the number of clients who are currently being connected would exceed a permissible number. If it is determined that the number of clients exceeds the permissible number, image data is not transferred to the client apparatus which has just sent the connection request, instead, information indicative of the current access state is transferred. Accordingly, the client side is able to know the access state of the camera server with which the client wants to connect.

  • Patent number: 5229361
Abstract: A method for forming an insulating layer in an oxide high-temperature superconductor is described. The oxide high-temperature superconductor is exposed to radiation, whereby an interface showing superconducting characteristics and/or a weak link that is present at an interface in the said oxide high-temperature superconductor is transformed to a thin insulating layer.

  • Patent number: 5107851
Abstract: A non-contact tonometer has a fluid projecting device for compressing fluid in a compression chamber and projecting the fluid to the cornea of an eye to be examined located at a predetermined distance therefrom. The fluid injecting device is capable of selecting a first range as a pressurizing range for measurement of intraocular tension and a second range including a value higher in the degree of pressurization relative to the first range.

  • Patent number: 4951670
Abstract: In a non-contact eye pressure meter wherein the cornea of an eye to be examined is pressurized to thereby detect predetermined deformation of the cornea of the eye to be examined and find the eye pressure value, the interim cornea deformation before said predetermined deformation of the cornea of the eye to be examined is detected, whereafter the degree of pressurization to the cornea of the eye to be examined is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4813778
Abstract: An ophthalmic positioning apparatus has: an optical index projection system for projecting a positioning index onto the cornea of an eye to be examined; and optical focusing system for forming a cornea-reflected image of the positioning index on a predetermined focusing plane; an observing device for observing the cornea-reflected image of the positioning index which is formed on the predetermined focusing plane; and a moving device for moving the optical index projection system, the optical focusing system, and the observing device along at least an operation distance adjustment direction; the positioning index being adapted to allow an observer to identify an inverted state of an index image through the observing device when the positioning index is projected onto a surface position of the cornea of an eye and onto a central position of the curvature of the cornea.
