  • Publication number: 20020082059
Abstract: Conventional portable mobile units have a problem that the user cannot enjoy a built-in music reproduction function at a start of charging a battery. Further, no consideration is given to the control of the music reproduction function to be performed when the remaining power of the battery is small. According to the invention, a portable mobile unit capable of reproducing data (musical data etc.) stored therein is provided with a charge detector for detecting a charging condition of a battery or a remaining power detector for detecting remaining power of a battery. The start of data reproduction is enabled when a start of battery charging is detected, or it is prohibited when remaining power of the battery is smaller than a preset value. This enables not only notification using music selected by the user at the time of charging but also power saving when the remaining power of the battery is small.
