  • Patent number: 5651229
Abstract: A structure component 7 composed of a vertical-load support trussed structure supporting a load in a vertical direction and arranged along a vertical plane and a horizontal-load support trussed structure supporting a load in a horizontal direction and arranged along a horizontal plane is provided between main mullions 4 in a building. Since the structure component 7 supports the vertical load and the horizontal load at the trussed structures 9, 10, a support strength can define responding to the loads so as to support efficiently.

  • Patent number: 5598672
Abstract: A panel member mounting structure for a curtain wall has a frame body comprising a plurality of quadrangular frame sections defined by mullions and transoms. For each quadrangular frame section, a quadrangular gasket consisting of integrally connected left and right vertical gaskets and upper and lower horizontal gaskets is applied. In panel member mounting operation, first the quadrangular gasket is fitted to the mullions and transoms defining a quadrangular frame section, and then the panel member is fitted in the quadrangular gasket by deforming the exterior side holding pieces of the vertical and horizontal gaskets toward the exterior side. Next, while the panel member is temporarily being held by the exterior side holding pieces of the vertical and horizontal gaskets, the zippers are fitted to the gaskets, thereby preventing the deformation of the exterior side holding pieces of the gaskets to fix the panel member firmly.

  • Patent number: 4662135
Abstract: A device is disclosed for use in mounting an array of standardized curtain wall units to the floor structure of a building. A clevis to be affixed to each curtain wall unit rigidly carries a crosspiece of circular cross section extending parallel to the plane of the curtain wall unit. The crosspiece is to be slidably engaged in an upwardly open notch in a bracket secured to the floor structure, for both longitudinal and angular displacement relative to the bracket. Preferably, each curtain wall unit is to be coupled to the floor structure by two vertically spaced pairs of such mounting devices, with each pair of devices horizontally spaced from each other. The mounting devices allow the horizontal displacement of the curtain wall units relative to the floor structure and can absorb forces acting on the curtain wall units in a direction normal to their plane.

  • Patent number: 4662136
Abstract: A curtain wall assembly composed of horizontal rows of prefabricated spandrel units mounted to respective floor systems of a building, and horizontal rows of prefabricated window units arranged alternately with and connected to the rows of spandrel units so as to enclose the open spaces between the floor systems. Each of the spandrel units and window units comprises a panel or panels and a generally rectangular frame supporting the panel or panels. Each spandrel unit further has an interior reinforcing frame through which it is coupled to the floor system. For firmly holding the window units against forces normal to the plane of the curtain wall assembly, a reinforcing stud is arranged vertically between any two adjoining window units and rigidly coupled to their opposed side frame members.

  • Patent number: 4662145
Abstract: A curtain wall assembly composed of horizontal rows of standardized spandrel units mounted to respective floor systems of a building, and horizontal rows of standardized window units arranged alternately with and connected to the rows of spandrel units so as to enclose the spaces between the floor systems. No direct connection of the window units to the floor systems is required. Preferably, for firmly holding the window units against forces normal to the plane of the curtain wall assembly, a reinforcing stud is arranged vertically between any two adjoining window units and rigidly coupled to their opposed side frame members. Each reinforcing stud has its opposite ends anchored respectively to the reinforcing frames of the spandrel units underlying, and to those of the spandrel units overlying, the two window units between which the reinforcing stud lies.

  • Patent number: 4614069
Abstract: A curtain wall assembly in the form of an array of standardized curtain wall units. In its simplest form, each curtain wall unit comprises a panel or pane of glass or like material, and a generally rectangular frame supporting the panel. The panel has its top and bottom edge portions engaged respectively in gaps in the top and bottom members of the frame, whereas the opposite lateral edge portions of the panel are arranged exteriorly of the side frame members and secured thereto by a relatively rigid adhesive. The panels of the horizontally adjoining curtain wall units are secured edgewise to each other by a relatively elastic adhesive. Thus, viewed from the exterior side of the curtain wall assembly, the side frame members are concealed behind the panels for the enhancement of an aesthetic appeal of the complete curtain wall assembly. In the embodiment disclosed herein, the array of curtain wall units takes the form of vertically alternating rows of spandrel units and window units.
