  • Patent number: 7757110
Abstract: A disclosed timer circuit for clocking a predetermined time includes an oscillator and a frequency dividing unit for dividing a frequency of an oscillating signal output from the oscillator. A comparing unit determines whether a short-time mode instruction is received by comparing a voltage received at an external terminal with a predetermined voltage. A switch causes the oscillating signal to bypass a part of the frequency dividing unit in response receiving the short-time mode instruction.

  • Patent number: 5328808
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for manufacturing edge emission type EL device arrays. A substrate carrying individually formed EL device arrays is coated with a transparent film. The film is etched to form terminals through exposure of the edges of block terminals and to make contact holes reaching an upper electrode layer of the EL devices. The contact holes are then covered with a conductive layer that is etched to form common electrodes conductive to predetermined edge emission type EL devices within each block.

  • Patent number: 5189731
Abstract: A character processing system is disclosed which has an editing function and includes an input unit, a text-edition data memory for storing text data and edition data, a display unit, and a text-edition data buffer for temporarily storing the data to be fed to the display unit. It further includes a display controller for feeding the contents of the buffer to the display unit and checking a text on display from line to line as to whether edition data is on display. An eraser is included for erasing the edition data from the display unit in response to a display change-over instruction. Finally, an edition data analyzer is included for retrieving edition data from the memory by searching the text stored therein from line to line and thereby displays the retrieved edition data at each line concerned of the text on display.

  • Patent number: 5174668
Abstract: Here is disclosed a printer capable of printing character information in the same printing format irrespective of the direction in which sheets of paper (30) for printing are loaded. Such a printer comprises a cassette (20) which can receive the printing sheets (30) either in a longitudinal direction or in a traverse direction, a detecting portion (18) for detecting direction of the printing sheets (30) loaded in the cassette (20), a format setting key (6a) for setting a format including feeding manner of the printing sheets (30), alignment direction of characters and the like, and a control portion (10). The control portion (10) determines whether or not the actual direction of the printing sheets (30) detected by the detecting portion (18) corresponds to the direction having been set by the setting key (6a). If they do not correspond to each other, the control portion (10) controls the printer such that printing data read out of a document buffer (12) where character information is stored are rotated by 90.

  • Patent number: 5106652
Abstract: A method for manufacturing edge emission type EL device arrays is disclosed. The method initially involves depositing a first and a second lower electrode layer of different properties. The second lower electrode layer is patterned into a common electrode arrangement conductive to a plurality of edge emission type EL devices. On top of the first and second lower electrode layers, an EL device layer and an upper electrode layer are deposited. The first lower electrode layer is patterned together with the EL device layer and upper electrode layer into a plurality of edge emission type EL devices. The parts ranging from the top edge of the light-emitting edges for the EL devices to the inside of the substrate are etched. This provides a highly smooth light-emitting edge for each EL device.

  • Patent number: 4988631
Abstract: The present invention, in a photoelectric conversion device including a sensor portion and a thin film transistor portion for the purpose of switching disposed on the same substrate, is manufactured by, first, forming gate electrodes for a thin film transistor portion on the surface of the substrate by a thin film technique, and then, depositing an insulating film, an a-Si film, and electrodes on the insulating substrate so as to be laminated to one after another and commonly covering the sensor portion and the thin film transistor portion, whereby the sensor portion and the thin film transistor portion are enabled to be provided in one series of processing while the device is put in a vacuum chamber.

  • Patent number: 4827146
Abstract: A photoelectric conversion device is disclosed which comprises a large number of photoelectric conversion elements arranged in an array on a substrate and thin film transistors individually corresponding to the photoelectric conversion elements and arranged in an array in parallel with the direction of the array of the photoelectric conversion elements, in which two electrodes of each of the thin film transistors are arranged to oppose each other in the direction of the array of the photoelectric conversion elements so that the width of the channel formed between both the electrodes may be prolonged, and thereby, switching operation by the thin film transistor is made reliable and the manufacture of the thin film transistor portion is facilitated.
