  • Patent number: 9495121
Abstract: A device control system has a terminal 3 with an application 31, and a printer 5 that controls a device. The terminal 3 sends a request written in XML generated by the application 31. The printer 5 receives the XML request, the terminal 3 sends an XML response, and if the terminal 3 requested control of the device in the XML request, controls the device.

  • Publication number: 20160323419
Abstract: A POS terminal has a server-function unit with a server function, and a client-function unit. When able to communicate normally with the control server, the client-function unit communicates with the control server as a client of the control server, and executes processes with the control server. When unable to communicate normally with the control server 15, the client-function unit communicates with the server-function unit as a client of the server-function unit, and executes processes with the server-function unit.

  • Publication number: 20160323289
Abstract: In a system having a control server and a control device that connects to the control server through a global network, the control device can appropriately handle processing when normal communication with the control server is not possible. The POS terminal 10 of a transaction processing system 1 has a client-function unit 501 configured to send authentication information to a control server 15 and request authentication, and acquire and store an access code generated by the control server 15 when authentication is successful. When normal communication is not possible with the control server 15, the client-function unit 501 communicates with the server-function unit 502 as a client of the server-function unit 502 based on the stored access code, and executes processes with the server-function unit 502.

  • Publication number: 20160323383
Abstract: When able to communicate with a control server 15, a POS terminal 10 updates a transaction information management database 414 with transaction information data based on a transaction process. The POS terminal 10 stores the transaction information data when not able to communicate, and when communication is enabled again, causes the control server 15 to update the transaction information management database 414 based on the stored transaction information data. If queried for specific transaction information data while unable to communicate with the control server 15 and the requested transaction information data is not stored locally, the POS terminal 10 queries other POS terminals 10 through the local area network LN for the specific transaction information data.

  • Publication number: 20160323380
Abstract: A system having a server and a control device that connects to the server through a global network and executes processes referenced to data stored on the server can handle events in which the control device and server cannot communicate with each other. When a control device-side product master database stored by a POS terminal is updated while the POS terminal is unable to communicate with the control server, the POS terminal communicates with another POS terminal through the local area network LN and causes that other POS terminal to update its locally stored control device-side product master database.

  • Patent number: 9342264
Abstract: A control system 1 has an input device that reads and outputs input information, a printer 11 connected to the input device, and a tablet device 10 connected to the printer 11. When input information is output from the input device, the printer 11 identifies the input device of the input source, and outputs the input information to the tablet device 10.

  • Publication number: 20150365272
Abstract: In a control system in which a terminal with a browser and a control device communicate through a network, the system and control device are made compatible with a configuration in which the devices communicate through a network. When establishing a connection between a tablet device 10 and a control device 11 in the POS system 1, both devices store identification information related to the connection, and when reconnecting after the connection is broken, reconnect based on the identification information stored by the devices.

  • Publication number: 20140214565
Abstract: In a control method of a control system including a terminal configured to execute an application, a device configured to send or receive data, and a controller connected to the device, a request for a device control is transmitted from the application to the controller. At the controller, the device control by the controller is established after the controller receives the request. At the terminal, the device control by the application through the controller is established after establishing the device control by the controller.
